With Dot gone what is the point of Fatboy?

Dot isn't gone she will be back in four months if not sooner.

I think he should stick around until dots killed of. He needs to have a few social/Charlie scenes and possibly help reconnect Tina and zsa zsa.

I realise she could return but with June Brown's failing health and increasing years I'm not entirely sure it will happen, I love Dot but I think June is about done tbh

I have a soft spot for Fatboy and I think he gets way too much grief on here. He's not played by a bad actor, he occasionally provides comedy relief in a show where the majority if characters are miserable and very serious a lot of the time. I don't see why you can't keep him as a background character, he's not a negae influence on the show

I agree, he's a decent character.

I generally like him, but they don't seem to know what to do with him. I was thinking maybe he'll get involved with the planned transgender character.

I like Fatboy but all his best scenes were with Dot and with him having very few ties to the square, where will the storylines come from?

Is it? I think a lot if people overreact to his so called " panto acting". I think the actor who plays him is capable, and at least Fatboy has character, as opposed to the usual miserable male characters in the show, such as Max, Charlie, Mick and Phil

Fatboy is pointless. He was irritating when he first arrived and overused, and he still is and underused! Don't know what's more annoying.

Rebuilt into what? He's always been a joke of a character. His speech and demeanour are just ridiculous. Fair play Ricky Norwood is playing what the writers give him and acts as he's directed so it's not his fault but the character is just a pain. Who is he without Dot? He used to talk to Abi and Lauren but doesn't really have any real friends. I wouldn't miss him if he left.

I honestly have no problem with Fatboy and actually actively like him but that's partially because he's never been thrust into the forefront of the show for too long. Fatboy does no harm as a supporting character, even without Dot he was involved with Donna a little bit recently and also seems to be Charlie's only proper friend as well. I honestly don't see him going anywhere for quite a while to come, especially since I have this weird feeling that June Brown is extremely fond of Ricky, it'd at least help explain how he was still brought back into the fold after his suspension controversy.

He's really matured. He just needs to keep growing up and drop the "fatboy" ASAP. If he doesn't like his birth name he can always change his name via deed poll. I can't see any young person liking the name aurther :P
