I found this online http://www.androidauthority.com/voic...arison-598541/

I don't agree with the result for whatsapp, it seems far too high compared to my usage however the other results may be useful
Great article! Thanks.

The lowest is 318 Kb per minute (K bytes?)

Which is 19 Mbytes per hour, which might be acceptable on a 500 Mbyte/month data limit.

As I said, I don't agree with the WhatsApp result and that makes me doubt the rest. I have made 57 minutes of WhatsApp calls (inbound and outbound) and WhatsApp reports data usage of 8.6MB. These figures match what my data usage app on my phone report for WhatsApp. I believe this could be down to the way WhatsApp changes the quality depending on connection speed. I have had noticeable drops in quality although the positive side of that is that I have been able to hold calls with 2g signals which is pretty awesome !

Although after a quick look online it seems that Tue consensus is that WhatsApp uses roughly what the article says. Perhaps my app is not reporting usage correctly

Doesn't your 8.6MB roughly match the results - 8.6MB *1024 *8 /57 /60 = 20.5 Kb/s where as the report shows 12kb/s - I am assuming they have correct used lowercase b for bits.

It's possible that on 4G connections, there is no way to reduce bit rates for voice calls....

Too bad.
