About the water boarding comment
Nothing hilarious about that.
It was the way he suddenly brought it up in such a matter of fact way, out of the blue, like he was saying 'what do we all think about custard creams'.

Made me laugh anyway.

I found him hilarious when he was impersonating a bingo caller in that gold jacket.

I think he's a sanctimonious little shit. I don't find him endearing at all.

He is quite sanctimonious, but teenage boys can sometimes be like that, like Adrian Mole, and I find that in itself quite endearing. He clearly means no harm.

I'll reserve judgement on the notion that he means no harm. I feel as though he deliberately asks leading questions to try and trip his housemates up.

...or because he is genuinely interested in hearing about other people.

I know in BB that's a rarity.

He thinks more than most of them before he reacts. You could probably have an intelligent conversation with him. He is probably better informed than most of them. I think he will make it to the final.

Joel isn't my favourite (Nick is) however I find him so funny! Especially today when he was singing I Kissed A Girl And I Liked It. His American accent is spot on. I love Joel and Aaron together. They suit each other so well.

Do you find Joel fake or funny? Or something different?
I actually found it quite disturbing when he sang "I kissed A Girl And I Liked It".. he sang it in such a camp way, as well.

I'm with you on this. I don't buy the innocent look he tries to portray. I find him sly and calculating - don't find any part of him endearing.

No. You can tell everything he does is carefully thought out for the cameras...his singing, his line to Aaron about the 200 men he slept with. I find very immature for his age.

I'm shocked at some of the comments.

I think, like Nick he isn't the most confident person and is a bit of a (in a lovely way) prat.

He comes across a little sneaky to me. I think he's too calculating to be hilarious. Which is a shame as I think if he relaxed a little he would be naturally funny. Not always in a good way though as I do find him to be judgmental at times.

I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.
Of course not; he's a Tory.

He brought it up knowing nobody else would have a clue what it meant and probably thought it was some kind of winter sports holiday activity. I find it funny when he just comes out with random stuff like this thinking he's so clever.

It was absolutely disgraceful..nothing remotely funny. What sort of person finds water boarding funny.

He is comparatively clever. He has more general knowledge than any one else in there, and he also has better social skills and is more articulate and self-aware.

The way he brought it up out of thin air was funny, not the actual punishment of water boarding itself.

Gosh!

I'm loving Joel. He's naturally funny. Made me laugh out loud again tonight with his house cleaning comment. Turning into my favourite.

Can't help liking the teenagers. Especially when they're just talking.
