Have you got WiFi Calling enabled? If so try turning it off. If not, I'd try ringing EE for them to check if there's a problem in the area.

Have you checked to see if you have 'do not disturb' turned on. A crescent moon will show at top of phone if this has happened.
The other thing is to re-boot, first try turning on and off and if that fails to fix the problem then hold down the sleep button top right at the same time as home button and wait till apple sign comes up. It will close down and then just turn it back on again after a couple of minutes. This seems to sort out many problems. |

I've had this happen a number of times on 2 separate handsets this week, but on Three 3G..
Perhaps it's some sort of MBNL fault? |

I have this sometimes, where text messages can fail or i don't recieve calls despite only being a few feet from my mast, but this ONLY happens when my phone is 2G, 3G , 4G (Auto Mode) not on 2G/3G mode only or 3G only...

Ok
Tried all above, spoke to EE and apparently when I'm on 4G by the time the iPhone 5s realises and try's to obtain a 2g signal and rings the call goes to voice mail, the Lady at EE then hung up on me and didn't phone back

Either extend the time before going to voicemail, I'm guessing that's possible.
Or.....When I had the iPhone I used HulloMail (free version) as my answering service because it was so much better than the network voicemail and far more customisable..... |
