Anybody else think her acting was atrocious tonight? Not the Tony bits, no she did that well lol. But the Fire scenes. Her granddaughter was stuck in there and she barely reacted! Even when there was an explosion. There was just no emotion at all, it was poor

"Amy's inside." Shocking, shocking, shocking delivery.

And she looked like she was waiting for a bus to come, not for her granddaugther to come out of a burning building.

I think the actress has had cosmetic treatment and it is affecting her performances. She was brilliant in the 90s when Liz lost a baby. The character is a caricature now.

I have not rated her for a long while but Bev's acting has plumbed new depths this week.

I said on the other thread the scenes outside victoria court were poor, namely liz and sally and bad camera work but I thought both were fine and as good as normal in the rovers scenes they both had

I noticed that. It sounded like she was actually relishing the chance of her granddaughter burning to death just so she could see Toxic Tracy suffer.

And to the OP who said her acting over the Tony stuff was good... No it wasn't. It was appalling...

I wasn't just about to say that Liz is simply a characature of a once excellent character.
How can someone just 'lose' the ability to act? The Liz of the 90s was fab. She's awful now, I was cringing like mad and my toes are still curled under from watching the smashing crockery scene...

Liz's acting was awful, it was shown up even more by people like Roy and Sally

I agree - I thought her acting was atrocious - especially when she seemed to be more concerned about having a go at Carla than getting Amy out of the fire (though I suppose that's down to poor writing too).

Took pleasure telling Tracy about Amy.

Vile.

What I don't get with the crockery thing is why they did that scene and not a proper confrontation scene with Tony (and Tracy?) that could then have been interrupted by the fire stuff?

That's what you would expect from a story-line that's been building for months...

But instead they just do a silly scene with Liz smashing stuff... And the always irritating Sean featuring prominently....

There are two explanation's I can think of:

1. They don't think the actor's are strong enough to do a serious confrontation (they may be right judging by tonight's appalling scene's)

2. Stuart Blackburn is just generally hopeless when it come's to reveals/pay off's.

Given the way he never even seemed to think of doing a confrontation with Tina and Carla, I tend to favour option two...

He's a total waste of space and every major SL will ALWAYS be a let down as long as he's in charge.

I was quite shocked by Bev Callard's acting tonight, she's not the best actress in the world but she's never been that bad.

Lol I didn't say she acted the Tony bits well. I just said she did that well lol. I was referring to smashing the plates and her mobile in frustration! But the actual acting itself was just as horrendous as the 'Amy's inside' line

Her acting has been shocking for ages. Anyone remember when Andrea's ex was on the roof and Liz shouting out the window in her typical awful delivery? Or the time she pinned Peter up in the Rovers trying to "warn" him? I wish she would bugger off to Spain and never return.

How many times have we had the 'barmaid falls for visiting brewery worker / drayman' story?

There was far worse acting in Corrie tonight, namely Kal, Kals son, Maddie, Haley Tamaddon and Sean.

Liz was atrocious tonight. Tracy and Carla weren't great either. None of the nazirs seemed very natural. Leeanne and Amy were the only convincing pair.

The spiteful way she told Tracy that Amy was inside was horrible! It doesn't matter what she feels about TracyLuv, that's HER granddaughter, FGS!

Her acting, in general, was pretty horrible too.

Andrea and Sean were appalling in the scene where they were trying to prevent Liz from going to sort Tracy out. I don't think I've ever witnessed such ham acting.

Why on earth have the producers not learnt to use the words 'Cut. Try that scene again?'

They only have to write [Carla splutters] and Alison King still acts them all off the screen. Great work from David Neilson and Sally Dynevor too.

I was shocked at Liz and the actress who plays her and I couldn't take Leanne and Kal seriously.

Even Kate Ford was more convincing.

Amy was brilliant though.
