Obviously as you can tell, Joel is my favourite...

I can see it's a horrible comment and sounds extremely harsh. But I do think it was a fluke comment - that's why nobody else (Harriet last night for instance) in the house has made a big deal about it.

So to conclude. If you dislike Jade, then Joel was only joking when he hoped she would be scolded. If you like or are impartial to Jade then Joel's comment was in poor taste to say the least.

It was in incredibly poor taste, but I don't believe it's as bad as it sounds.

Wishing someone to get scalded in a bath seems pretty bad to me. I guess it depends on your own personal scale of what constitutes bad....

Only if it was said with malicious intent, as nobody in the house has even reacted to the comment. I'd suspect it wasn't.

For the record I dislike Jade profusely.”

And I don't actually dislike Joel for the record But I do think there's something there with him, just lying in wait. I'm keeping my eye on him

To be fair, they probably all agreed with him, such is their dislike for her

The reason it interested me was the light it seems to throw on Jade and Joel's interaction in the bathroom when she accused him of being nasty behind her back but wouldn't name names. She seems to really not like him and has mentioned him doing this as a reason. I think now we know that she was right. Joel was adamant he hated her and we know he's at least wished her scalded. I'm pleased to have more information on this as before it looked like Jade was being melodramatic and spiteful herself but she has obviously had to deal with Joel's whispering and is reacting to that.

And if you're an ardent Jade fan, there was a sinister motivation behind the comment.

I don't believe that's necessarily the case. It just seems 'anything goes' in this twittery age where people can sink as low as they wish, and be as nasty as they like to the point that it's deemed acceptable to wish ill upon people they don't like. Some of us just don't like that kind of carry on.

There are comments in this thread suggesting the intent was sinister, poor taste though it may be it was more likely than not meant in jest.

I also think people would be more willing to give Joel the benefit of the doubt if Harriet were the subject...

Eileen is no angel in there, so she deserves to be treated badly. She has her own agenda with certain people in the house and is acting all innocent and weepy when it backfires. She's a sly manipulative old bag!

I liked what Jade called him in the diary room, something a long the lines of Pompous little twit.

As a Joel fan, I agree that this was a shitty thing to say definitely.

It was indeed a shitty thing to say.

But I really wish we could see it to get the full context of the situation.

Exactly, if Jade had said that, then the forum would have been full of threads slagging Jade off.

Watching him for a while now , I think Joel gets buzz off other hms distress and suffering ie Kieron pointed out that he really enjoyed sneering and laughing at Adjoa when she got evicted

Like somebody said over on TIBB, if it was that bad Joel would have had a warning.

That looked like nervous laughter to me, due to the boos.
