Putting people up for eviction who didn't even deserve to be up due to not getting the most nominations (Harriet got 0 nominations for a start and the rest didn't have enough to go up anyway) and then getting rid of them in a QUADRUPLE eviction on DAY 18. It's incredibly unfair that 3 people (1 would have to go anyway) are being robbed of a longer stay in the house because they want to put new housemates in (who I can guarantee will be what we have seen before, 3 boring people who will cruise until the annual double eviction before the final and the final itself and then 1 good one who will be evicted after a few short days in the house). I feel incredibly sorry for this year's housemates who've had to go through the audition process (Simon getting evicted after two hours, 3 of them going this week for no reason) to be turfed out with disregard - no doubt it'll be played down/treated like a joke on BOTS too when the evicted housemates are being interviewed and the poor sods have no idea what's happened.

I am seriously thinking about switching off now.

What they've done is ridiculously unfair on the housemates.

The producers have just basically scrapped 4 housemates, just chucked them out the house.

I'd be ****ing furious if I was one of the 4 housemates.

I mean what the actual **** is this shit?

I normally don't feel too much sympathy for BB contestants because the majority are a bunch of fame-seeking wannabes.

But I think this is very, very unfair - if the whole house was up or four of those already nominated were getting evicted it wouldn't be as bad. But four people are unwittingly being turfed out having done nothing to justify it, and with no preparation at all, for the sake of 'saving the show' and I think that's just really mean. I don't think I'll be watching because these kinds of evictions always make me feel really uncomfortable - I know they actively put themselves in that position but

The cruelest was when Dan got evicted, even though I didn't like him, but yes this now surpasses that.

The producers have used people as human collateral for years now, these people make a living by building up hate figures week to week and throwing them out to a jeering pack of chavs. It's not exactly humanitarian aid work.

However, this is brutal as f*ck and very sadistic. It's the first time ever producers have switched nominations around - totally out of thin air, to suit their needs - and *then* thrown in a quad eviction. You can almost imagine the morning briefing, "Oh shit - the other group are the dullards we want rid of this week. With a quad eviction we're more likely to get rid of the ones we want out, let's just switch nominations around, sod it." It is nearly impossible to justify that level of BS interference. You're taking the audience for idiots (sadly, most are - sad BB fact).

Okay, fair enough - this set of housemates has hardly set the screen ablaze, but seriously - the producers chose them. They didn't seem to over-promise in their audition tapes, their place in the house is down to producer incompetence.

I agree there could even be a court case in there somewhere if you get some clever lawyers involved. This is still a *gameshow* with a prize and SOME level of set rules as understood and agreed between participants and production. I'd question whether the "we can change the rules at any time" would actually hold up in court.

Do I think it's good TV? Yes. Do I think it's cruel? Yes, almost inhumane - even by BB standards. Someone like Harriett will be broken by this.

You have to remember it's a TV show, it's business. Lower ratings = lower revenue, - and money speaks. The well being of housemates is a minor inconvenience.

I remember the good old days where HM's nominated 2 HM's they wanted to evict and the two HM's with the most nominations were put up to the public vote, and the HM with the most phone votes got evicted to a respectful round of applause from the audience.

Those were the days...just a pipe dream now.

When was that? BB2? Now I'm feeling nostalgic.

I think maybe upto BB4 too, Jon Tickle had his name chanted and he got cheers from everyone in the crowed when he was evicted, and he was the 4th HM out...imagine that these days.

The only chanting we get these days is "Get (insert HM name) Out!"

The truth is the production staff are a bunch of incompetents incapable of putting a decent show together, who have decided to sacrifice 4 unwitting housemates in the most unfair of circumstances ,instead of learning how to do their jobs properly

Channel 5 have damaged the show beyond repair now. Its was always going to be a tough ask to carry on with the show when Channel 4 ditched it, but to make it as bad as it has become in the last year is unbelievable. I'm all for the show evolving but this is just ridiculous, they are fixing the show on a weekly basis for goodness sake.

Hardly anything of what actully made BB great exists now. All it is about now is throwing a bunch of people in a house and trying to come up with ways to make those people argue.

If Channel 5 were to ditch it and some other channel picked it up, whay could they possibly do with it now ? Like i said, it's beyond repair.

The four to be evicted will be absolutely furious at BB . To be evicting 4 people who were not nominated . I bet Harriet will be going bonkers and have nothing to do with this fiasco, least I'm hoping .

I would love if Kieran got the 4 organised and said we're NOT leaving .
Imagine BB would have to send in security to remove the 4. That would really **** up all their plans and be an eviction night to remember

It has the potential to be an absolute trainwreck of a show. I'll certainly be watching, but I do expect there will be some very uncomfortable viewing. Harriet especially is going to be utterly crushed by this. She isn't going to react well to the news at all. Fireworks aplenty and who knows how other housemates will react. BB production team is treading on very dangerous ground here I think.

And it worked

It was a winning formula that guaranteed millions of viewers ( and voters ) and I can't, for the life of me, understand why they tampered with it

This is a game show afterall, and if a game is going to work then there has to be a set of rules that everyone understands

These days there ARE no rules or structure, just random stuff thrown up the whole time that makes no sense to contestants or viewers

That would be brilliant!

Actually, with the way that C5 are running it, maybe they ought to bring back Kitten. Her rebelliousness is probably exactly what the producers need

BB used to be tough as well.
There was a time when housemates were really nervous about BB telling them off.
Now BB are so soft on the housemates. They laugh in the face of BB as BB let them off with most things and give them treats whenever they can.

BB used to be seen by housemates as the voice of authority.
BB just isn't seen as an authority figure anymore. It's just seen as a means to provide housemates with a paid holiday.
BB is now seen by them as their friend, where at one time it was a entity which made housemates shit their pants.

Housemates now go into BB expecting to be pampered by them. They say things like they have the right to enjoy their experience.

Hate this twist. This started out with the potential to be one lf the best series but this will probably ruin it.

It is unfair not only to the housemates but to the public as well, All but Jack should have been up if they want to kick four out to let four new housemates in.

It's ridiculous - but as I've been saying on here for years now; just don't vote. Don't give them any money. Then they'll either put it out of its misery or return to what the die-hard viewers want.

I...........like this twist and see it as a golden opportunity to get rid of three terrible housemates in one go (Harriet,Danny, twins).

It's akin to a soap that starts to drop ratings. Introduce a bus crash, whipe out all the cast members who are going nowhere and then reset things. Its cruel to the actors there who's livlihood depends on it, but it's just par for the course. Same deal here really. Unlike other 'game shows' this programme is about persoanlities... So in a sense we are looking at a 'cast' rather than 'contestants'. Unlike the soap analogy though this cast aren't exactly making a living being part of the show, it's not as if they are being fired perse... I'm sure they won't be thrilled, I'm sure they'll find it unfair (which arguably it is) but... *shrugs*... it'll probably be for the best. The show clearly wasn't working, viewing figures dropping below a million on one night this week is incredibly worrying for all concerned. If that doesn't happen again for the rest of the run - and time will tell - then this will have been the right decision for the show-makers. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

Wasn't Grace Adams-Short's BB7 eviction that turned the tied and ever since then it's been a public execution on eviction night ?
