I work in an office and people are all moaning the good ones are up and think Harriett and Chloe will go. A lot are moaning it's a step to far for BB. Hate Jade and Eileen here.

I know some of the forum here think this twist is to save the big characters but appears the liked housemates outside the forum are at risk and this hadn't gone down well.

This twist may even alienate even more of the public then just the hardcore fans.

The General Public is not represented by a few people in your office.

well i also think its strange they put up the more interesting ones.
though i am of the thought process that the whole house should be up - vote to save.

Well my favourites are Sarah and Chloe, and they could both go, so the twist definitely annoys me.

I can see it would put a lot of people off voting as well, but perhaps Channel 5 aren't bothered about votes and are more concerned about viewing figures?

More than one person in your office watches Big Brother? I work at an entertainment magazine and I'm the only one here who watches it.

My friends who do watch it though are glad about the twist, myself included. And let's be honest, whoever gets evicted will be forgotten about next week anyway. It won't "alienate" anyone, let's not be dramatic now.

The twist makes it almost pointless to try to vote for your favourite, so it'll alienate a lot of voters.

Also it makes the whole nomination process pointless, if BB can just ignore it and put the ones they want up.

I suppose they are gambling that new HMs will suck in more viewers, but the new housemates are likely to be just as 'deadwood' as the old ones.

You can pick another favourite from the newbies perhaps.

Presumably you wont be watching any more.

I can't understand why people are acting like these 'twists' and 'blatant manipulation' of the nominations hasn't happened about a million times before.

I also don't understand how more than Jade vs. Eileen were up first day. So putting the other side of the house up doesn't matter anyway.

BB to me has always and will always be about watching how people react in high pressure environments, how bonds form and are broken, and how essentially no matter our age/looks/social standing, we all have the same insecurities, emotions, and no one is riding high in this life the whole way through.

How are the interesting ones up? Chloe and Kieran have hardly featured in the series. Danny and Sarah have done nothing apart from this romance thing that isn't even gong anywhere. The twins have had a couple of arguments but have mostly done nothing. The only one up who has played quite a big part and caused a bit of drama is Harriet due to her screaming and shouting. The ones who are now safe are far more interesting...Jade has probably been the biggest character this year, Eileen has been the centre of a lot of arguments, Aaron is a big character like him or not. Christian, Nick and Joel are the three of the books favourites so the producers obviously aren't going to want those three out. I hate this twist and think it's ridiculous, but out of the two groups, the right group is up.

Well this member of the General Public thinks it's inspired..beautiful. I feared that Harriet, Danny, the twins and Chloe were going to coast it to the final. Friday night is going to be a joy to watch.

I'll watch, out of habit, but I can't see myself bothering to vote any more,

And I like to champion my favourite through the series (by voting to keep them in).
No point in trying to do that when BB throws in twists like this.

I guess I'm too much of a fan of 'old-school' BB, and I look for HMs that are likeable.

Nowadays the show seems to be for viewers who like to see 'entertaining' HMs bouncing off the walls and self imploding, and aren't really interested in them as people as such.

Do I think it's unfair? Yes
Does it surprise me? No
Will I vote? No
Will I continue to watch: Yes

When BB1 was capturing all our hearts back in the day I was out at lunch one day and I heard on shop radio (as a news-flash) that Nick had been caught out in the BB house and was packing his bags to leave as they spoke. I dashed back to the office where nobody knew (hardly any mobile phones back then) and most of the office spent most of their time that afternoon trying to get on online at Channel 4, not much work got done. Would such an event happen concerning the present HMs? Would it heck

Agree with all four questions, and your memory of the Nasty Nick event is similar to mine, (fight night on BB 5 caused similar iirc) - those were the days!!

I don't really care who's up this week, but this kind of twist surrounds the show with an air of complete dishonesty and fakeness and makes viewers even more cynical than they were already. A lot of the funding of the show comes from the voting, and if people start believing that there's no point in voting, the future of BB could be threatened.

We all remember nasty Nick... but Friday night could be up there simply because we do not know how the housemates are going to react... what if they refuse to leave... do a sit in... kick up a fuss in the interviews..
Also I would put the new housemates in first... get everyone happy then BOOM!! Four of you are leaving tonight... perhaps having them all leave at the same time!!
Perhaps after the show have another vote to allow 1-2 of the evicted housemates back in via a secret room? Can't wait to be honest..

The two other people in my office who watch it like the twist (same as me) as it will get the dull/ unlikeable ones out; or the ones who bring nothing to the show.

You've been lucky to support a favourite to the end. It seems whoever I like is voted out at the first opportunity Which is why I like this twist because I don't feel any need to vote as it would be impossible to save anyone. As it happens I'm not bothered about any of them either. Finally the right ones are up for me Thanks Channel 5 / BB

As for being old school and finding likeable HMs aren't Cristian and Nick very much in that tradition, possibly even Joel plus Jade is saved for those that like really interesting HMs

Anyway there has always been twists and I think last years immunity for Helen and this year Jack is the truly heinous twist. This one has so much more positive and interesting possibilities.

I'll pretty much guarantee how the housemates will react; 'I knew it! I knew it!'
Tight smiles with Emma for the eviction interviews, not really listening to the questions asked, and in full on damage limitation mode...

Everyone in my office is talking about it too! It's big brother this, big brother that. They are also talking about whether Mulder and Scully will ever get together and who is best out of Blur and Oasis.

Oh memories. I was at uni and had fallen asleep on the sofa with the tv on,when I was awoken to all hell breaking loose in the BB house..Emma screaming and Nadia squaring up to Jason. I was riveted for the night, into the early morning...perhaps it's viewed through rose coloured specs..but I remember past episodes with such fondness.

Generally speaking, your point is spot on .

I agree. I prefer this group as from what we've seen, they are less interesting. I do like a few of them that are now up but as watchable hms go the other group have been better.

New hms are usually treated as non hms or intruders by the originals, so it will be interesting to see if they have strong enough personalties to over come this.

Haha that's true guys. Love your comments

Was just gaging a reaction. They all do seem to love Harriett so I think why they are moaning.
