Joel said this to Aaron on last night's highlights I was just wondering why nothing was said to him over that ? I mean it was probably in a jokey way but still.

I never saw HL's last nite, but even reading what OP posted without seeing the clip, to me it wasn't a threat more something one would say out of frustration

I can't stand Joel but to be fair to him Aaron had just been goading him again about being gay when he said this.

His "hate" for Jade and wishing her scalded was far worse than this, imo.

He was joking and Aaron didnt cry like usually so no harm really

You do have a point - that is certainly threatening behaviour, but ch5 did not intervene.

Aaron was CONSTANTLY digging at him about his sexuality and was asked to stop just as much

I thought Aaron was close to overstepping the mark last night, Joel has put up with a lot of taunting from Aaron, and behind the scenes he may well have been warned.

Put the comment into context of the moment, it's like when somebody playfully says "I'm gonna slap you in a minute".

Mountains out of molehills again...

There's something a bit off about Joel.

There's also something a bit off when being teased about the possibility of being gay is considered THAT offensive that threatening physical violence is deemed understandable.

Why is it so bad to suggest that someone might be gay? Haven't we got past all that?

there is nothing bad about it had he brought it up once but he did it constantly knowing it annoyed Joel, having been asked to stop

And put it all together - Joel has the makings of a first class sadistic bastard cabinet minister.

When did he do it other than the time they were talking about Miss Congeniality?

And how can you possibly know he did it 'constantly' given that we have 40 mins of highlights a day?

And, and...... if Joel is going to prance around in gold lame, quote the script of Miss Congeniality and sing Katie Perry loudly, it's not exactly out of left field for Aaron to make that observation, is it?

Why is it necessary though. Joes has said he is not gay and asked Aaron not to keep talking about his sexuality, which is his business and no one else's. I don't think Aaron has the right to keep on about it.

I don't think there was any actual threat made either. Joel is obviously frustrated that Aaron won't let him just be who he is without trying to label him, despite being asked not to.

I get that; I completely do. But I still think what should have happened is that Joel should have complained if it was making him THAT uncomfortable and BB should have had a word with Aaron - instead of allowing it to escalate to the point where Aaron was ejected.

Now, maybe all of that did happen.

But if you're THAT sensitive about your sexuality, going on BB is probably a really bad idea and these are all consenting adults. Taking the pish out of someone about their sexuality really shouldn't be such a no no; if there's nothing 'wrong' with being gay.

If Joel had complained people would have been calling him a homophobe

And that's what's interesting about this. Why is the suggestion that he might be gay so upsetting that he threatens physical violence? I mean, if you're going to wear lame, dance, sing Katy Perry and rave about sketches from Miss Congeniality, in pretty much any company you're going to get a jibe or two!

He's a piece of work and no doubt. Sly, snide, conniving, judgmental, sanctimonious...I really could go on. He's a joy, if that's the right word, frame by frame for his micro-gestures: he's literally sneering at the stupid and immoral scum around him.

I comfort myself with the thought that he wants power over our lives, and our childrens' lives, because he knows better than us.

He's obviously crossed a line. There is no point in blaming Joel for not complaining - if his behaviour was deemed unacceptable enough to get him ejected - it is no ones fault but his own.

ETA - ^^^ probably in the wrong thread. Sorry

I wouldn't want to complain either but it happening all the time would annoy me just as it did Joel

No problem I was just going to say, I'm reserving judgement on whatever led to the eviction; but I still think Joel's comment about hurting Aaron was very odd, to say the least.

I think it was more the fact Aaron could see Joel was not comfortable and still he kept on pushing it.

Joel probably doesn't know what the hell he is.

Even, during the short HL's - it was obvious that Aaron was flaunting his sexuality at Joel - who was very obviously uncomfortable.

I had a feeling it would end in tears !!
