Bonnie Langford said in an interview with Inside Soap, that Carmel will be around for a while. Also Davood seem committed to the show when I read his Inside Soap interview.

The opposite I think. In spoiler pics there's a to let sign on Masood's house. Instead of a new family moving in there, which the show needs, I can see Carmel, Kush and Shakil moving into his house.

I like both characters but would like you see her other son and his wife arrive.
Hopefully we meet the other Kazemi son, who I believe is married as well. and if they have children, expect an even extended Kazem family.
With the masoods nearly all gone, there is room for a new family or an en extension of an established family. Hopefully the latter is done with the Kazemi's.

By moving them into Masood's house it creates more space for the other brother and his wife, like little-monster says, possible children too, which you can't accommodate in a 2 bed flat, however a 4 bed soap tardis house easily done.
