You know how Italians talk a lot with their hands?
Well this might stand you in good stead for your visit to Italy.
ITALIAN IN 10 MINUTES - BEST COMPLETE GESTURE'S LESSON - by CARLO AURUCCI
I recognise most of them

This guy is very charming and very funny especially in the second clip!

Piero singing "E lucevan le stelle". I don't really know opera and the nuances of it all to know how good an opera singer is but this sounded really good and it's a performance that I think does show that he does have quite a bit of light and shade to his voice even if it's just in an operatic genre.

He received an excellent reaction from what looked like a big crowd after the performance.

I was going to post those Pompeii videos... Fantastic, aren't they Did you get them on FB or do you have another treasure trove?

I absolutely love those Carlo Aurucci videos - very funny Some of those hand gestures were genuinely sinister - "you're scared aren't you", "I'm going to kill you".... haha

You may have already seen the Pompeii videos, but our lovely Tânia has done an amazing thing and translated a couple of Il Volo interviews - so that you can watch them with English subtitles - one in Italian and one in Spanish. Just click on the CC and chose English (or Portuguese if you prefer!).

Rai TV interview (in Italian) 4th May 2014: https://vimeo.com/134097705

Cala CNN interview (in Spanish) 24th April 2014: https://vimeo.com/135933917

It has been SO lovely for me to be able to watch these interviews and hear what the guys are saying at last - I had no idea that GG was into Philosophy for instance. And, Tânia is planning on more, so watch this space

I don't have a secret treasure trove
I just regularly search them on youtube using the filters feature youtube offers and selecting upload date so always find the latest new stuff uploaded every day

Here's Ignazio receiving a good round of applause after performing Memory at their recent Chieti concert

Ignazio and Piero dancing to ABBA's dancing Queen

The "Grande Amore" track they won Sanremo with and performed at Eurovision must have captured a hell of a lot of people because there's a ton of youtube covers of it

I have seen them both before and it is is a shame for those that don't understand Italian because it's where they really are at their funniest being their native language

There's one clip where Ignazio is constantly pulling his trousers up (he forgot his belt) and halfway through the concert Gianluca says what you doing? You've been puling your trousers up for the past 3 hours... Ignazio in his usual fun way replies with what do you want me to do, let them fall... when then someone in the crowd shouted let them fall lol
So he turned to the crowd saying Nooo Noo, what should I do? A mass of women shouted let them fall lol

Interesting article...
http://www.ilvolo.mus.br/2015/08/pla...-with-il-volo/

A new CD scheduled for release in October will unite the music of Elvis Presley with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on songs like "Burning Love" and "Love Me Tender."

The album, announced Tuesday, also features a duet with Michael Buble on "Fever" and appearances by the singers Il Volo and guitarist Duane Eddy. The orchestra adds its backing to original tracks recorded by Presley, who died in August 1977.

"This is right down the alley for Elvis," said Priscilla Presley, the late singer's former wife. "This is something he would have loved to do."

Priscilla Presley is actually a fan of Il Volo and has been to one of their concerts, I vaguely remember reading an article about her saying she first saw Il Volo on PBS (I think) and fell in love with them.

Yes, the album will be presented at the Arena di Verona during their concert on the 21st of this month according to an interview they had.

It used to hold 30,000 but it's down to 15,000 these days, concert is sold out so a big crowd.

It's also the concert Jessika is going too so she'll be able to give us a full report when she gets back.

Here's L'Amore Si Muove the title track from the album, loving Ignazios voive on this.

Yes, L'Amore Si Muove translates to "Love Moves", they seem to have a knack of picking the right songs, in a lot of cases modernising them because a lot are old and making you listen

Hope you watched some of them PBS Live at Pompeii clips I posted, I like how they mix their songs around, same songs but sang differently, they softened some of their songs in that concert as well as sang some new material and they were excellent, very professional

E Piu' Ti Penso This one's going back a bit in their career but they sang this so beautifully.
It is of course the theme to Once Upon a time in the west.
Same song performed live, I can't recall seeing them perform this one live...

L'Amore Si Muove The official video, it appears it must be the new single from the new album...
The ending of the video will make you laugh

At the end before they break into funny...

(Gianluca) "To think we lived a life together"... (Piero) "My friends, from our life there will remain only one great memorry because our life has always been a handshake"... (Ignazio) "We have been singers but our real true passion has always been to dance"... lol

I expect it will include some of the new material, would seem odd if it didn't with the album having been released a few months earlier.
The video is excellent as is the song, beautifully done

English lyrics, they never really translate properly from one language to another, especially in a song but it gives you a good idea of what they're singing

L'Amore Si Muove (Love Moves)

There is no pain when you are here,
It feels like a dream, even more
And there is something in your eyes that never leaves me

I am not afraid if you stay here
Because love closes my eyes
I would like to kiss you now, yes
I wish it were so

Love moves
It takes you away, if you want
It takes you by the hand without telling you where you are going

Love moves
and it makes no noise, you know
It is a gentle breeze that never abandons you

Like a gift, so unexpected
A surprise, you are there by chance
There was something in your eyes, that I will never forget

Love moves
It takes you away if you want
It takes you by the hand without telling you where you are going

Love moves
and it makes no noise, you know
It is a gentle breeze that never abandons you

And I think about what would be
about what we will be
about the love that takes us away

Love moves
It takes you away if you want
It takes you by the hand without telling you where you are going

Love moves
and it makes no noise, you know
It is a gentle breeze that never abandons you

Love moves

No problem with the lyrics, I can receive RAI Uno infact pretty much every channel in the world so will watch that. It is an Il Volo special and is indeed on the 23rd of September on RAI Uno. Thanks for that

They have done I think 3 concerts in Rome this year so there's no doubt the 2016 one will have the new material, at least you'd think so with the album having being out a good few months by that time. Should be good
