Who says?

Big Brother are free to do as they please. They need to try different things and freshen things up. I loved the twist on night one of the current series.

Pauline could have picked anyone but she chose Helen. It was awarded to her fair and square and the fact we chose Helen as our winner suggests Pauline made the correct choice.

Channel 5 have killed Big Brother this year. The rot set in last year with giving Helen the final to the pass.

Celebrity Big Brother it seems will survive outside of Big Brother, but are Channel 5 allowed to have one without the other?

Helen winning was great for the show. It created huge headlines. It was such a major shock and came totally from left field. It was the most sensational win in the history of the show. To go from a 50/1 outsider to winner in the space of a week was remarkable.

Immunity doesn't freshen things up.

Housemates shouldn't get a pass to the final either, they should have to work for the chance to get there by not getting evicted, completing tasks and being entertaining (without being forced to by the useless Production Team).

I would assume that the contract stipulates that if viewing targets aren't met then either or both shows can be dropped.

It is believed that Desmond had in the contract that if viewing figures were to go below a certain level then BB would be taken off air
Desmond only ever wanted CBB but i have no idea how the land lies with Viacom but would presume a similar contract and American tv owners don't take any prisoners they just axe the show.

And thus leaving a horrible legacy to what we have now. Granted she won, i accept that. If more BB fans voted than just sat and moaned like me we'd have had a different result.

The public made their choice. Helen received the most votes therefore she was a deserved winner. I don't know how on earth you can hold Helen responsible for the current series. Her series was a ratings hit and it was Helen who made most of the headlines. She was the star of the show and was by far the most controversial and most discussed throughout the whole series.

So no immediate cut, at least not to the extent that has been reported.

However it has also been said the next 7 days are critical ratings wise and a decision will be made based on that.

Me too. Just getting to know the HMs.
I got reinterested in BB after many years not watching it after last seasons great show.
This year i was really looking forward to it and all was going great , i even registered on Digitalspy to enhance the interest.
And now this - aparently C5 are pulling the plug.
If true , it will be interesting how the presenters spin it , I see Rylan in my cristal ball saying its the best twist ever and theres a row of clapping seals behind him.

Well it must be true the cat that lives in the camera run told me that his grannies, aunties cousin - who was once removed for having an accident on the carpet - told him. Apparently it's been confirmed on that bastion of truth Twitter, by some bloke who watched an episode once in 2002 and didn't take to it...................

Presumably the show beginning on 13 june will be Big Brother and not Big Brother :Timebomb.

I hope, if it does finish early, that it's not too soon, as I enjoy it most once the numbers are considerably less.

(Apologies if someone already said something like that, my internet is playing up and not had time to read past page 1)

That particular change was announced yesterday. I think the EPGs should already have updated to remove the reference to Timebomb.

If that actually happens we'll know who to blame for giving them the idea.

So great that no one bothered tuning in the following year.

If I remember right, big blagger were the ones to break the news that the show has moved to a May launch. They've been a reliable fan site since bb7.
