It looked that way to me too. You could see it in her face that she was trying so badly to hold it together but just couldn't. Poor sod.

The presence of the royals at the Royal Variety Performance is greatly hyped by the BGT judges. The royals are just part of the audience. The show is a charity gig to raise money for the Entertainment Artistes' Benevolent Fund. The acts don't go on stage to entertain the royals. They are there to entertain the audience as a whole. The audience is there to enjoy themselves not to judge or criticise the acts.

You talk as though the Royals are just like anyone else in the audience. But the truth is, they are of a higher status. How's a kid expected to cope when s/he sees the Queen sat there watching?

Kids cry get over it. The Hula Hooper lady was embarrassing crying crocodile tears she knew the judges would pick up on her mistake.

The royals are usually in a Box at one side. The main audience is straight ahead. Wherever the the royals are seated they are nowhere near as visible to a performer as the judges are on BGT.

The tears of a disappointed, jazz handed brat is the only thing that makes me watch this odious piece of television

No, not just you. I thought he was as dull as ditch water. I would actually have buzzed him off (and in my own private world I did just that because I fast forwarded through his performance). Sadly, I did the same for the martial arts girl. Undoubtedly she is very talented at what she does but, as someone who isn't a martial arts enthusiast, it isn't that entertaining to watch. I was surprised she was in the top 3 and, to be honest, it might have been better if she hadn't been because then she would not have had to go through all of that "It's so hard, I don't know what to do, I can't make a decision (even though that is what I'm paid zillions of pounds to do)" rubbish that we get from the 'so-called' judges.

Kids must learn that they can not always win or get their own way in life,I think it's wrong when people let kids win when playing games, or like some of the kids football teams do and reset the sorce at half time

I do think that they should have a kids only version of Britain's got talent not because of the crying aspect, as one would suspect that a child that didn't win would possibly cry anyway regardless of who they were up against - Kids do tend to cry. However, I don't think it's particularly fair to pitch kids up against the grown ups as they will be getting a fair amount of votes for being cute, or just because they're a kid. The kids must be stressed and tired with all the rehearsing, then taking part in a live show in front of a massive audience when they'd normally be tucked up in bed. A junior version of the show on the late afternoon/early evening slot imo would be much more suitable. I know the one show is BBC but that would have been ideal to show the heats as it's on daily and then have the semi's and the final on a weekend. I'm sure than ITV would be able to come up with some kind of solution.

Whilst I'm sure that something could be worked out and I'd love it to happen, it probably won't.

It wouldn't be a huge moneymaker for Syco and I doubt the advertisers would be falling over themselves to get expensive slots.

A spin-off on ITV2 for kids and dogs could work though.

Thanks for that!

What a wonderful tear-free "cry" that was.
