My phone will only connect to 800 indoors because the others are so weak, it connects at full strength for about 5 seconds then falls down to 1 bar -120dbm indoors on 800 despite the coverage checker stating i have excellent indoors. I am guessing that another mast is live but not open to use yet?

Any thoughts,

3 & EE planned to upgrade a mast close to me back in April but then they realised it wasnt right so they went back to planning and now plan to change the wide band antennas with dual wideband for 4 to 6 ports, it plans to have 3 800/1800/2100 and EE 1800/1800/2100.
The planning guys said it should now be live late December early January, I got this info from Wilkinson Helsby (Planning department)
This is what they sent me https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0K...p=docslist_api

I noticed we were due Three work on my local mast yesterday. So today the coverage checker says:

We've super-pumped our network signal in this area. To see how your coverage might change, enter a device below.
Guess what? My 1-2 bars of 4G has now changed to 1-2 bars of 3G .

That must be the muppets idea of "super-pumping" the network, thanks Three.

Looking at the plans, I cannot understand why EE don't install 800 Mhz equipment as standard. Everything else is there!

If H3G activate all their 800 Mhz sites, then H3G could really beat EE for indoor and rural coverage.

I've been super-pumped over night as well. Been walking funny all morning. Not my actual mast though I don't think as still no coverage at home. Trying to work out which one it is.

There were 2 vans and blokes in high viz jackets up at my mast yesterday.
Nothing on the EE status so I guess Three were attempting to super pump it.

Rubbbish.. no change..

It keeps connecting to H+ and occasionallt 0 to 1 bar of 4G.
I did a reset of my phone last night and today I noticed I can connect to the 800Mhz and use it.

I don't have VOLTE but it works as a data network

EDIT: I was testing it during the entire journey to the office and the 800mhz was on and off.

In the office I am still connected to the 1 bar of 1800Mhz (Cannon Street)

Maybe they haven't planned it yet for that site. Or maybe that site doesn't need it for EE.
I assume they can always come back and plug into the current Three MHA later.

Bit windy for pumping I would have thought. Especially up a mast. VOD say more work scheduled for tomorrow so dunno what that will be. Maybe they are going to pump 3.

True, but what if VOD got O2 to creep up on the battle while it distracted 3? Then it would be a classic 3 way pumping.

I'm just trying to imagine the blue sky meeting that led to all of this. An American business guru is parachuted in to come with new PR concepts for the brand and he encourages everyone to shout the first thing that comes into their minds. First 3 answers are:

Purple monkey muppet thing
Crap network
Super Pumping

And so, an ad campaign is born.

That will be their next ad campaign. '3..Pumping the purple monkey in your home......while you are asleep'.

Can't be any worse than the current one.

Skippy, Do you think they would advise on any plans for Carr House Flats? I don't think that one you linked to will give much of a signal on George Street

I noticed that when you turn off automatic carrier selection on the iPhone it brings up two (3) options! 3 (3G) and 3. I can only assume the other must be 3 800mhz as I couldn't connect to it. I'm hopeful that I may have a super voice signal when I get the carrier update.

I'm pretty sure t isn't the Orange fall back signal as I've never had it here. I did the same manual check a few months ago and there was only 3 (3G) so it's a new signal. Just wish I could access it and give it a go..

I had that with a Lumia 640XL, when doing a manual network search.
It would show Three 3G, 4G and Three 2G. When trying to connect to Three 2G it would fail. But I tried many times, by setting the phone to Highest Speed 2G (it is basically allowing the phone to connect to 2G network only, in Windows phones) and it let me connect. I was able to make a call to 333 and when the call ended I was disconnected again.

I have sold my Lumia 640XL and I am no longer with Three, so I can't test it again.

Loving the 800Mhz from Three. Atm there is no VOLTE but I can live with that..

I can now connect to the internet in some of the blackspots on my journey to work.

Can't wait for Three to roll it out completely.

My Galaxy S4 running |CyanogenMod still says "Orange" for the Orange 2G fallback. Would have thought it would at least say EE!
