Thanks. Seems to be an enabled area but will only connect to 800 when i force it to. 800 signal is very strong too.

It won't connect unless you have no 3G or 1800MHz 4G signal at all.

Makes sense i guess ( i don't really think that ). But i want 4G all the time, 800 seems to travel stupidly far.

But I agree, the signal from tall masts travels very far indeed. I assume the mast you found was a tall one?

That street view is outdated as there has since been a set of new antennas put right up top, the poles on the corners of the building have been removed.

The higher the ASU the better the quality of the signal, from what I understand. The ASU on 4G will be higher at lower dbm than 3G and 2G, hence why 4G works at -120dBm and lower and 800MHz 4G at -125dBm (I think that's where the scale stops, the signal may well be lower than that). 3G would cease to work at such signal levels. In short, 4G is better at lower signal levels than 2G and 3G.

Anything above 10 should be usable.

The highest antenna installation I know of is a T-Mobile 2G-only mast at 76 meters on top of the Harworth headgear for the pit shaft.

Found a Three mast at 110m (according to sitefinder) on the top of Guy's Hospital tower in London.

Yeah there are some very high ones in London.

(Some of these are probably out of data from Sitefinder)

Vodaphone 60 Metres
(Also Airwave at 142.3 Metres which could be one of the highest?)

Belmont TV:

Don't see the point. 3G can't cover a large urban area. 40Mbps per sector. You need more lower ones.
No wonder everyone is complaining about their speeds..
EDIT: Might be useful for 800 though as long as there's a good dense 2100/1800 network underlying it.

Highest I know round here is Winter Hill TV tower, Three at 66.5m.

That's insanely tall. I suspect you're right that's the tallest. Looks like some I've seen in the USA. The Arqiva Tower at Emley Moor is pretty insanely tall (330m), but I don't think they have any cellular antennas near the top - maybe halfway up.
