There is maintenance in my area on the 9th which is already super pumped, maybe the engineers forgot to do something and are running round now putting it right.

There is parts of the country with 800 which arent working properly phones are connecting to it with full strength then it's falling away to a weak signal. It's a problem in the areas first to deployed, 3 are aware of the problem and are correcting it site by site.

The network team and executive office have both confirmed this

Ah that's good to hear. Thanks for passing that info on. I would much rather wait a little longer than get the iPhone carrier update and be disappointed with no signal. Fingers crossed all the sites will be ready by mid December when the update is due for release.

If not then I'm off after a very frustrating few days reception with Three.”

I going to disagree and say it will be with iOS 9.2.
Although I'm sure it can be enabled with a carrier update it appears that these now nearly always come with iOS updates.
Also when we got WiFi calling on EE, the general discussion was about the carrier update that was coming. Turns out it did come, but with iOS 8.3 (7th April).
This not only enabled WC for EE but also for Sprint in the US as well.
I would put (a small amount : ) of money on Three iPhone VoLTE being in iOS 9.2.
I also have my reasons (and I could well be wrong, I normally am) to think that it will also enable VoLTE for EE as well.
I have a feeling VoLTE has been ready on EE for a while but they are waiting for Apple.
EE might have some clout but Apple are like Gods and it will happen only when they say.

Anyway, it will be fun to see which of us is right!

I'm rooting for Tuesday (Apple and EE product launch day of the week) the 15th based on the various post stating Three saying it's coming mid December on Twitter.

On the other hand this is mightily close to Christmas so nothing might happen at all!!

Ah, so this is why that's happening. Thanks. Makes sense. So it should be that as soon as you have no 3G you should get a half decent 800 signal.
I just wish they could get handover working between 2100 and 800 then it would be pretty cool and EE would be looking more worried than they aren't! : )

What's the latest in the rumour mill for Three & WiFi Calling?

Lots of talk of VoLTE, but at the minute WiFi Calling would be of greater benefit to me!

don't know, they probably spent all their money in purple puppets and can't afford wifi calling at the moment.

I would love to see native Wi-Fi calling on iOS for both calls and texts. (Just like EE's implementation). Having a signal box on at home is waste of energy ...

Three for years said they would launch iOS Visual Voicemail and they still haven't done that so wouldn't hold any hopes for them to do native WiFi Calling.

I definitely live in a black hole for 3 signal. Sat waiting for my boy to come out of school the other side of town and notice I've got 4g. A quick speed test shows 81mb down and 18mb up 😀

Cells Three about Super Voice for the iPhone (as I was bored and I'm trying to avoid doing the dishes). Technical support are adamant it will be a separate carrier update, people will get a text telling them what to do. Update starts on the 15th Devember (I asked him to double check and he was adamant about carrier update and date). Hopefully those no signal miles on my daily commute home will disappear in just over a week's time!

Wouldn't be surprised if it was the 15th for iOS VoLTE. Hopefully they don't decide to just do it on the 6S and 6S Plus

In positive with Apple it's a one size fits all. Unless the handset it's self doesn't support

Hence why they are having to support none 3 iPhones too, they can't define the two.

Isn't that just because Vodafone will only activate it on a sim that is linked to a 6s/6s plus?

as far as I know, and I've had 3 for 4 years now, they have NEVER said they were going to launch Visual voicemail.

Whenever you ask you get the standard response "we are looking into it" which means.. "no".

They are just unreliable. Sometimes within the same blog post, different Three employees give different answers. E.g. "no, we are not adding more countries to feel at home" and "we are always looking into adding more countries soon". They are rubbish.

Other Three companies in the world offer both visual voicemail and native wifi calling, not to mention better feel at home offers.

I would agree that Three have never promised visual voicemail, even on the blog it's been either noncommittal or flat out no.

This is the most recent blog answer I've seen:

Quote:
“Moderator: Stephie October 26, 2015
@Brian L – Hi Brian, WiFi Calling is something we will be looking in to for the future although we don’t currently have a date when this will be launched.

However, Visual Voicemail is not something we have plans to support.”

Correct a friend of mine had to call up and get it activated, once they had activated on their systems he had to switch off and back on again as it was a sim update.

They used say they were going offer Visual voicemail didn't realise they had uturned on that. Haven't checked the blog in ages as it was basically all crap. None of the people there knew what they were doing if it wasn't on there piece of paper.

Where did you see this promise? I can't remember them saying anything but they are considering it or a flat out no in the last 4 years or more.

well, in that case, and if that's an answer they've given, the translation is: "we won't offer it".

you see, the problem with three is that they are too ambiguous most of the time.
And they are too full of themselves. Make it right, intouch app, and other bunch of crap they've come up with.

They said it just around time EE was launching Visual Voicemail. Someone asked on blog that because EE was launching it. One of the reps said they had considered it and might be implementing it if there was enough people desiring it.

It's not a promise and your likely right they are to lazy to do it..
