Well it's "network improvement" day where I live. I've got the bunting out and champagne on ice...... just looking for a little 4G love (NOT 800!).
I think it's "network improvement" day everywhere. At least it is where I live too.

I think every time I've checked there's been some sort of improvement, but I'm not sure what - as nothing has actually improved as far as I can tell.

I can only assume that maybe EE is doing something which affects 3 via MBNL - so it's a network improvement, just not for the network I use

Yep, I'm realistic but this must be about the 11th day of work since September. We must have the best maintained masts in the world!

They do get the Brasso out a lot and make them shine, those poles get a good polishing.

Pole polishing? I thought it was the Super-pumping that did that!

It would be really useful if the Three coverage checker let you see the masts around you. It's not like Three can't give out this information, they do over the phone.

None of the networks want it to be general public knowledge.
If you have time you can eventually work it out from signal levels.
Large towns and cities are much harder obviously.
I know where all the EE masts are in this area http://postimg.org/image/u4sy682v3/
Plymouth would be quite hard and I know where the big ones are in Torbay and Brixham but would have to seek out any smaller ones.
Rural is dead easy though.

Looks like Three's site is having problems. Home signal is completely dead atm by the looks of it too.

And EE and 3 mast share...so you must know where a lot of 3 masts are!

The equipment boxes at the base of the masts have emergency contact numbers - so generally give the game away about who they are!

Three's "maintenance" has disabled Super-Voice/800MHz in my area entirely. Well done Three!

What's the theoretical max speed of 15MHz of 1800 on LTE?

Nice those speeds should be maintained or rise slightly as they roll out new sites.

A thoroughly predictable update I'm afraid. After what is now about the 10th day of network improvements/maintenance since September.....no change that I can see. I went for Whisky instead of champagne (helps with my cold - sorry, man flu).

Check you've typed it in correctly my iPhone does that if I mistype.
I just checked again & when I enter 3001#12345# & press Call I still get 'Please Wait' for a few seconds then the 'Unknown Error' message.

The OnePlan was £23 at one point, so the unlimited data cost seems to be slowly going back to that price...
]The OnePlan was £25/month at launch which was & is very good value for 2000 minutes 2000 texts 5000 3-to-3 minutes & unlimited date with unlimited tethering. £25 now only buys 600 minutes & 12GB of tethering.

You appear for some reason to be not seeing the asterisk (Star) at the beginning and the end.
You dial exactly this.......

*3001#12345#*

Are you confusing them with quotes? They aren't.

Star, 3001, Hash, 12345 Hash, Star

I think when I signed up it was "officially" £25, but sold as £15, with the difference being implemented as a discount that showed up on the bill

And 24 month handset contracts are even worse.

I got my Galaxy S4 in May 2013 (so around 2 months after it launched) and I was paying £38 a month for the one plan (so as you say 2000 minutes 2000 texts 5000 3-to-3 minutes & unlimited data with unlimited tethering).

Looking at the handset contracts now for the Galaxy S6 (around 10 months after launch) is depressing. For around the same amount as I was paying you only get 4GB of data. For unlimited data (with a tethering limit) you have to pay £51 a month.

Hell they aren't even much cheaper than EE anymore - you can get the S6 on EE with 10GB of data for £45 a month, with three you get 12GB of data for that price.
