I just finished a roaming guide for data in Europe and realised something: now Three has a 30GB plan, how does it work with Feel at Home that has a 12GB monthly limit? Does it cap users or does nothing happen?
I know that with the throttling you'd struggle to use 12GB, let alone 30GB. |

Work in my area
Hi I'm wondering if anyone could shed some light on something strange going on in my area, for the last month 3 have been supposedly carrying out essential work on several masts, but when it's come to the selected date. The maintenance schedule disappears the morning of the work, by the end of the day there is no status saying we've been carrying out essential work sorry if you couldn't use your phone. Bla bla,
Three claim to have excellent coverage on 800 in my area but it's far from it, the iPhone connects to it at -123dbm. 3G is non existent indoors, despite excellent EE coverage so obviously no MBNL work has been done around here yet. I'm in Wakefield City Centre PO wf1 1de if anyone has access to check. Thanks guys in advance. 😀 |

Does your phone support 800, i.e is it a Three purchased model with Three firmware and one of the handsets they support for 800, or with In Touch installed and a supported model?
The work could be anything I guess, maintenance could include doing work for EE at the site, upgrading an electric supply meter or anything, it doesn't necessarily mean installing 4G equipment specifically for Three. It can often mean EE work at the same site too. Also for a particular postcode they could be working on any one of a few sites I should imagine they're never 100% sure which site you use and probably give you general notice for your area even if sometimes you don't notice the difference because it's not a site your phone connects to much. |

The Three map shows me absolutely covered with 800 for miles around, but I force myself on it I get ping times of 500+ms and speeds of under 0.5Mbps down and 0.1 up. My signal is 1 bar or even 0 bars.
Pretty useless. |

It hasn't yet, still waiting for it. I'll post a KDZ when it's available.

I'm actually strongly considering a Nexus 5X/6P now.
The thing that's stopping me is that it doesn't seem to be able to do VoLTE or Wifi calling on 3. Obviously the phone is capable, but it won't have the settings loaded to do it. People report that it works on EE with Android N, so perhaps I should have thought about this a week or two ago and got that cheap EE 16GB SIM! I had also thought about the S7, but it seems that isn't happening either, unless you get the 3 version - which they don't sell without a hefty 24 month contract. I assume it has to be the 3 version and not SIM free? |

It works (Wi-Fi calling) on the Nexus 5X and 6P with Android M too, as long as it has had the March update or newer.
I do hope that future updates might see VoLTE settings included too, especially as Huawei had said last year they expected this to be the case by the end of Q1 (this would have given the 6P access to VoLTE on Three natively). Wi-Fi calling is also available on Vodafone, but the 6P hasn't got the settings for that so the menu option is hidden. There is a trick to find it (using search within settings) but trying to turn it on does nothing. |

The manager of my local Three shop said the TiT/4G calling starts today.

Just been through Fareham and there is no longer 4G. Why would it be switched off after going live?

My dad (also with a Nexus 5) got a text asking him to update TiT to get supervoice, and sure enough, he does now (along with 800MHz access) |

You shouldn't need to wait for a new Nexus. The current one will get updates at least every month. I'm sure once VoLTE is officially turned on, EE will see to it that as many phones as possible are made ready.
For now it perhaps makes sense to restrict testing to just one vendor. |

I got a text too and upgraded but it doesn't work on my ZTE Blade (big surprise).

A bunch of Samsungs are showing TINT800=True on the back end now too:
Note 2, 3 and 4 (the 2 was never flagged either way originally) Galaxy S 3 and 3 mini (neither of which were flagged before) Galaxy S 4 and 4 mini. |

I've been using the TiT app for a week now on my LG G3, at first I selected my home WiFi to use the app because I don't get a very good signal in my kitchen, but I don't like the way it handles calls, it starts in loudspeaker mode as others have said, and it often sounds distorted the same way you would expect if you were on 3g and didn't have much signal, my connection is strong with my router. I also had a problem when someone called me, as I was in the call, I could still hear the phone ringing.
The other problem is the permanent notification in the notification menu, even when I turn the notification icon off, the notification telling me "mobile calling ready" stays there taking up valuable space. If I block notifications from this app in android, will I still be able to use 4g calling? |

I still have one SIM here with a month of unlimited data, and should probably activate it sometime as I expect it expires eventually. Had it almost a year! |

I've just checked the Three store page and the £20 add on is showing as 12GB if chosen via store-sim-mobile phone PAYG sim. |

I can confirm that the 4G that was switched on in Fareham last week has now been switched off.

3G speeds have become piss poor again in Conwy/Llandudno Junction. Can't even stream TuneIn Radio without it buffering all the time.
