I've only been there in recent years for the touring cars which has a lot less people then f1,, but still enough to make my friends on EE struggle with calla and data.

Thanks as always for the figures jabbamk1.
iOS and android sell through is about what I would have expected, with android sales on the increase as products like the S6 launch.
I don't completely understand what has caused the windows/BlackBerry & other to perform like that however. Is there anything obvious I'm missing which explains it?
Thanks. Don't take it as 100% Gospel but i've been collecting data for a while now and feel I can somewhat accurately measure the UK market.

What do you mean? Blackberry is pretty much dead in the UK now and will probably struggle to sell much if anything at all.

Windows Phone is doing average but is easily solidified as the third OS. Although I can imagine sales increasing over the year as new handsets are launched. January to march are usually low, April picks up and then depending on how the G4 does + S6 we should see momentum carry into May before dipping back down again till around the new iPhone time. Christmas is also a massive boost for the industry.

Hit the 70Mbps mark yesterday on Three from my local mast. Have they disabled the speed cap by any chance?

well at least that's something positive with all this negative light on them lately.

Although its not useful for me on my mobile good to see Three being able to deliver these types of speeds.

Work is scheduled today in my area.

4G has been non-existent today with my phone struggling to lock onto the signal.

I hope there is some improved at the end of the day but I am not keeping my hopes high.

Was getting 4G between Weybridge and Walton-on-Thames earlier for the first time, so they are still activating the odd mast here and there, it seems...

No improvement on 4G and 3G signal seems to be fluctuating a little bit indoors.

I get 4g at home, i got 19.18mb yesterday.

I could be stood in the middle of Oxford and not get a 4g signal! Yet 4g is meant to be very good in and outdoors.

Unless I've missed it in the jump to part 2 of this thread, I take it there is still no word about 4G goodness in Northern Ireland?

Nope, it seems Three have well and truly forgotten the whole country exists now!
The staff in the three shops say, oh yeah it's coming soon, to Belfast, we think... It seems nobody knows. Three are VERY behind the times.

I didn't expect windows to be so high, over 1 million a year.
I also didn't understand the continued increase in sales for both Windows and BlackBerry and other, but like you say all sales are fairly low Jan-Mar, not just Android and iOS due to release cycles.

Windows sold almost 2m units last year. So that's impressive in itself. In 2013 it sold over 2 million fuelled by the release of Lumia 520. This year it's on track to probably do about the same, if we see Windows 10 phones launch this year then potentially even more.

Well Jan-Mar is usually low sales, end of the year is when they really pick up. Also more than 50% still buy phones on contract so contract deals on certain phones can skew numbers in favour of that OS/Manufacturer. That's probably why Windows and Blackberry sales did increase/decrease randomly. Actually the BlackBerry leap launched in April so that might be why BlackBerry & Other was up whilst Windows and Apple decreased month on month. But only 10k up so not exactly impressive.

As a reminder, I only have access to data that can account for roughly around 40% of the market, so the numbers here may be off by a bit, I do think they are somewhat accurate and are generally quite representative of the UK market, but certainly not 100% spot on figures at all.

I've noticed quite a few people with 520's where they might usually get a cheap Android phone. They don't particularly like them but I suppose this might be the best place for Windows Phones as at the moment no power user who wants apps or the like wants it, as you say Windows 10 might change it, especially if apps get ported from iOS and Android now it's easy.

I was told that Three would be launching 4G in 2014 and so posted on this forum it would happen.

Three then issued a press release saying it would start rolling out 4G in Belfast during December, thus proving me right.

Then nothing happened..... and nothing has happened 7 months on. So your guess is now as good as mine.

how do you know they don't like them? do you know everyone with them?

I have a lumia 930 flagship and love it.

You need to do more research onto Windows Phone. Android and iOS apps will NOT be ported over to Windows Phone, that's not how it will work and don't spread incorrect information.

Most the people I know who have windows phone have them through there work as the IT departments like it that they can lock everything down on the phone and maintain there control on the users.

Their 4G coverage in the south west appears to have remained stagnant (and of course the infamous culling of the 4G rollout list, where any place in the SW that didn't already have it got taken off)

Meanwhile EE have made great strides in Devon and Cornwall over the last few months

Haven't noticed any change in Hampshire other than slight improvement in Southampton city centre.

The staff are very cagey about it, especially when you ask them about the "4G It's here" sticker in the shop windows.

That gets on my goat, Three just don't seem to give a monkeys, thankfully it's time to get a new contract, not with Three.

According to the 3 map we should be good for 4G outdoors only. But getting around 17mb indoors too. Perfectly acceptable imho.

Just moved to a 3 sim only deal after a few months on GiffGaff, now if you want to discuss slow 4G there is the worst example ever. 0.3mb if you are lucky and tried multiple locations not just local mast.
