Is there a fault repair time limit or is it indefinitely? A 3 mast was upgraded to 4G 6 months ago but is reported as long-term fault on website. Can you ask to exit contracts because all of the town is without any coverage.

Do you mean no coverage or no 4G coverage? Do you still get 3G, meaning you're getting the call and data functionally you're paying for as part of the service. A total loss of service at the home area would normally be enough (if not fixed in a reasonable time-period) to get you out of your contract. You can change provider for performance based reasons, but that's your decision next time the contract comes up for renewal.

In terms of time to fix it may be that the land owner is being difficult, or that a new site needs to be found as they can no longer use the existing site etc. In cases like that it can easily take 18 months, reporting and deciding the mast options, speaking and agreeing contracts on a site location, going to the planning system, getting approval, having the site built etc. That's obviously a worst case scenario,

Three may be able to give you an ETA on the 4G mast if you give their 2nd line team a call. To do this make sure you select signal or network faults from the menu, spend 10 minutes with 1st line going through the test they do and log the issue, but insist on speaking to 2nd line or them giving more detail from the system about what specifically the situation is. They have gone into a lot of detail in the past with me, they can see what is happening with a local site and any ETA information, but you do have to quiz them a bit and ask for 2nd line if they aren't giving you the information you're after.

Make a fuss with the exec office at Three, they actually offered an early penalty free termination without me even asking for it when I complained to them a few years ago after they "upgraded" a local site that meant most calls were dropping.

There's no need to go running to the CEO first at all, I'd just follow the complaints procedure, you'll log a complaint, get a reference, Three will have a certain number of weeks to resolve it or let you out of your contact and if not you can go to to the Ombudsman to make a decision, and with no home signal at all you'll be let out of your contract with Three before it even gets to the Ombudsman.

This is assuming you haven't left out any important facts and that it is a total loss of 3G and 4G coverage. If it's just 4G but you still get data, calls and texts then I'm afraid you'd be wasting your time as the services they are contractually providing you with are being provided and the method or technology used to deliver that wouldn't be enough to get you out of the contract, instead you could just choose to change at next contract renewal.

Currently engaged on a web chat with Three. Apparently despite promising me twice that 4G Supervoice was good in my area they have run some tests and actually it isn't after all and I am in an area with "limited or no connectivity".

Nice. They are away looking at what they can do. I've advised them that all I want is that they honour their promise of 4G Supervoice.

As things stand I have virtually no phone or data signal. Can't even activate their shambolic Three In Touch App because you can't do that by wifi.

So all you need to do to activate the app is go outdoors or somewhere with signal and then it's activated. In your area doesn't mean in your house, nobody can promise what a radio signal is like in your house without knocking the door and going in and testing, which if obviously not realistic. Coverage maps are advisorsy, you're always best ideally getting a trial sim first before committing, that's best for all networks.

I'm now been passed on to customer service and the guy there is telling me that (silly me) Supervoice doesn't do date, only calls.

He reckons that this from their website means:

"How does it compare to our existing 4G offering?
We’ve had 4G since 2013 but, until now, only for internet and data services.
Our new lower frequency, 4G Super-Voice spectrum allows 4G signal to travel further into buildings.
This means you can access the internet, make calls and send texts in places never previously possible."

That Supervoice only adds 4G phone calling to places with existing 4G.

You can pretty much guarantee a radio signal in 2016.

You say coverage maps are advisory, I also spoke to Three about it and asked them to check prior to buying.

Personally I think we have enough excuse making from the industry.

Wrong, radio signals are extremely temprental and variable and can be affected by all sorts of things. Always best to test a network first indoors before taking out a contract.

Coverage maps are computer generated estimates, and that applies to all networks.

I have never failed to get a radio signal anywhere in the UK.

After today's exchange with 3 I think I'll just put my o2 sim back in and cancel the PAC transfer before its done. Maybe just get a Three wireless dongle it £10 a month for outside use.
PorkchopExpress

In fact, no. I don't want to reward O2 for only providing GPRS even if they do provide consistent phone signal. Will need to just get by with 3 and use their awful Three In Touch app at home.

Maybe get some EE and Vodafone SIMs on prepay and try both of those as well in your unlocked handset.

LG G5 doesn't support Super-Voice via inTouch

Also, the coverage checker seems broken?

It's always been either VoLTE natively or via 3inT, I'm not aware of any which support both.

Yes it is also not working for me on my mobile, it states the coverage but the map won't appear.

My Moto E 'supports' L08 via inTouch but it never actually works, it just sticks to no service in a place where my iPhone goes on L08 and in places where I get weak L18 but no 3G, it connects to the L18 then calls through TinT just fail.

Curious how the OnePlus One "supports" 4G Super-Voice via inTouch when the phone doesn't support band 20...

Not sure if this has been asked before but I'm currently in Somerset and according to my Galaxy S7 and Three's Coverage Checker there is a Three 800mhz 4G signal where I am. Even shows it in *#0011#.

But...it's not connecting to it, just says "Emergency calls only". In the service menu it says something about "WAIT_RRC_CONNECTION". Does that mean anything?

Can anyone venture a guess to what might be happening?

Is it a device from Three?

Did you get the S7 from Three? Only Three purchased S7's work as it needs the Three software to access one of the bands.

Yeah I think you don't have a Three signal and your phone is on another network for 999 calls only.

Does your phone have the latest software?

No I didn't buy it from Three themselves and it is the latest firmware. But the Unbranded S7 does allow connection to VoLTE as I have VoLTE at my home area. And in the service menu it says 234 20 as an operator code.

I have a screenshot from the *#0011# menu from earlier so you can see my problem.
