Yeah I'd speak to them. Is it definitely a UK mobile or landline you're calling? Intl or premium rate lines will come out of credit.
I was actually phoning up St John Ambulance about a training course and put on infinite hold. I just got through to a real person who was about to take my credit card details when I got cut off and had to start the process all over again after I topped up my basic credit. I wonder if a charity is charging premium rates? |

Ah! Now that's an interesting piece of information that I didn't know.

Customer Services for enquiries about Workplace Training courses, including First Aid and Health & Safety

I presume you called 08447704800?

(And we are talking hundreds of pounds not a tenner!) Thank you; I'll note down that number for future use. |

Might also be useful to make a note of the web link
![]() It has alternatives for many 084x and 087x numbers which are charged at extortionate rates by all providers. I just thought that contacting a charity to buy one of their services would be at charged at most at a standard rate, not one that rips off people who they want as customers paying them hundreds of pounds. Lesson learnt! |

0844 numbers will cost unfortunately.
In future, if you have to ring one (or any other premium number), use the link posted by d123 above and find an alternative. If the number starts with 080 then it's free

Has anyone else noticed 3 doing alot of work in most areas... At my work we got a new mast which I expected was going to be puting out 4g but if anything I think they have increased capacity as during peak hours it slowed down... But after them doing work for 3 days with a patchy signal they have more work planned for thursday could this be them now enabling 4G or possibly missed something

Yes, major work on the 19th here and now saying it has been done and all working. Speed now down and I can't get 800 any more either. Very odd.
Perhaps the work isn't actually finished. |

I wonder if I've found something else new on Three, after recent work. Namely that when doing some network testing, I got an error because the connection had changed.
From 3G to 4G. During a speed test. So, is Three now able to hand you back over to 4G mid data flow? If so, that's great as it will stop you being shunted down to 3G never to return, until you stop streaming data. |

I think it is undergoing testing. I am certain I found this near Windsor a month or so ago, and have read other reports.
I'd hope it's a fairly easy thing to roll out given how quick EE managed it. But handset support is still an issue (like EE). Not everyone had an iPhone. |

However I've seen some 4G800 appear in some blackspots, but still not anywhere near the O2/Vodafone rollout of 4G800. |

Well....at last, after 2 years of having 4G in my town from EE, Vodafone and O2 (and despite the Three coverage chart showing that there is 4G coverage in the town), Three 4G gets switched on today. 90meg speed as well - zero to hero.....but I'll still be moving to EE.

So it appears the LG G5 now has native WiFi calling, and the iPhone 7 is set to receive an update in the future. Well done Three, slowly making steps in the right direction. I wonder if cellular handoff works? |

Huawei has just rolled out a beta ROM for the Honor 5X which adds VoLTE. India only right now, but fingers crossed it will be rolled out globally and then other Honor and Huawei phones.

http://tinypic.com/r/2r40psk/9 23 down and 4 up Speed tests have always looked good, Three being the sneaky bastaards they are don't throttle speedtests so the casual user gets a false impression of how well Feel At Home works. Edit Here is Jon's original article: https://jmcomms.com/2015/11/02/sort-...-like-at-home/ Note this bit: Quote:
The problem is Three is throttling data, cutting actual speeds to as little as 0.1 or 0.2 megabits when using it for many things. We’re talking 2G-like speeds here, which is often too slow for some services to work at all. Here is Jon's follow up article:It’s weird that Three allows speed tests to run at ‘full throttle’, unless it’s to trick people into thinking everything is fine? https://jmcomms.com/2015/11/05/three...-go-from-here/ And this year: https://jmcomms.com/2016/03/17/anoth...l-at-home-yet/ |

You might want to go do some research, perhaps read Jon Morris's article and the comments following to get an idea.

The latency is bad because it's all going back to the uk, but everything I need is working, I've been using maps and the browser, pretty much the essentials for holiday for navigating and getting around. I don't plan to do much more than that outside of the tests. |
