If it works, it will work anywhere.
I can only hope that when they changed feel at home earlier this month, they've actually changed the way it works to be like everyone else. Three did say earlier this year it was looking at changing things (see Mobile News) and who knows, maybe 4G roaming is next on the cards? When that all happens, I'll be first to update my posts. |

Steven - Not received it no, check it's not a scam but if genuine then sounds intriguing.
Jon - I know you didn't doubt me in the first place but here's a follow-up video which shows the sim card, the ip address and the streaming working just so that D123 or anyone else can't say it's fake etc. https://mega.nz/#!yJsR3BCC!bN7vzILJI...MwTfPS5u-a_P0s |

I don't think the email is fake here is the email I'll let you decide...

Related to 3 4G I guess.. my contract is due in the next couple of months and I only really plan on upgrading from my Z3 to the new XZ. Three still can't even confirm that they'll be carrying this phone yet and it's out any day now. I don't like the idea of buying one outright and not being able to use 800mz anymore.

By this stage, I'd assume it isn't getting the phone if it hasn't already said so.

Just went upstairs where I can pick up a 3G signal from O2 Ireland to test Youtube, it doesn't work for me. Speeds of about 1Mbps and websites load fine, but no Youtube. Will do an nPerf test tonight.

Three coverage checker now saying more work to come near me (5th October), so maybe this will fix the issues that have come about since they last did work a couple of weeks ago.
Also, seems the Huawei P9 now has VoLTE support with the latest update. Possibly only for Three-issued devices though. |

Missed the news on the new feel at home countries. Good work there.
Also, is it just me but is 4G pretty much everywhere on Three these days? I'm still happy with them. Getting unlimited everything for £15 still which is cool. Question - What's the deal with iPhones and 4G Super Voice? Can I buy an iPhone outright and get access to it on a SIM Only plan? (I"ve been out of the loop too long) |

No there isn't 4G everywhere and VoLTE wont work very often as its set at the lowest priority on 800MHz only and is pretty much a waste of time. Android devices are usually firmware specific: http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/network/4G-Supervoice |

Anyone else using Three on iPhone 7? I'm told they have a known problem with users staying connected to 4G.
This has affected me around where I live. I always got strong 4G on my iPhone 5S, but now it will go down to 3G randomly instead. If I restart mobile data or the phone, it will go back to 4G but only for a brief amount of time. To throw a spanner into the works, I got the iPhone 7 just as Three did upgrade works in my area. And, reading some of the posts here, it seems like this has allowed for more fluid change between 3G and 4G. Quote:
So it's not just me! I've only dealt with the Twitter support team so far, and jumped through all the troubleshooting hoops but had no luck - they've just raised a second line tech ticket.
In areas where I got a rock solid 4G signal, like at work, the phone is stubbornly sticking to 3G. Sometimes a full shut down / power up will make it find 4G but it rarely hangs onto it for long. Interestingly they claim to have been carrying out maintenance basically everywhere I've been since getting the iPhone 7! Quote:
Yeah, it seemed to force it onto 4G temporarily but it fell back to 3G by the next time I checked. Not really a practical solution so I've left it since - I'm in central Manchester and 3G isn't really much slower.
Quote:
I don't think anything is confirmed. Unfortunately whatever has happened has coincided exactly with me swapping to the iPhone 7 and the latest carrier update being available, so there are many potential smoking guns!
Hope Three can fix this ASAP. Quote:
Yes the following iPhones support VoLTE:
iPhone 7 iPhone 7 Plus iPhone 6 iPhone 6 Plus iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Plus iPhone SE Will work with any sim. If by everywhere, you mean a limited area of the country which is nowhere near the 4G coverage of the other networks, then yes, it's pretty much everywhere
![]() This iPhone 7 Plus issue is a bit odd though. |

I got the iPhone 7 Plus this week and have noticed the exact same thing. Very odd. My Huawei P8 was fine with no issues at all. But on the iPhone 7 it just stays on 3G pretty much all the time. Only time I got 4G was with a network reset but then it went back to 3G again.
Hope Three can fix this ASAP. |

Me too, no contact from them since that last call - the phone has flickered up onto 4G a bit more often so I have no idea what they're doing, whether it's a tinker at the network end or if they're going to need to deliver a new carrier settings update. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.
Now have 4G, even after connecting to and disconnecting from Wi-Fi. Will keep you posted too. |

Jamrolu and Jabbamk1 - I spoke with a Three engineer last night. The gist of it was that both they and Apple are aware there's a problem, but there won't be a fix until the next software update from Apple.
It's definitely less of an issue than when I first got the phone a few weeks ago though, as it connects to 4G *some* of the time. And a quick turn off and on of 'enable 4G' seems to do the trick. Another interesting thing I've noticed recently is my phone displaying '3' and '3 UK' as the network name interchangeably. I always used to get '3 UK' until I moved abroad for 18 months from mid-2012. When I got back it was just '3'. Anyone have any detail on this? |

I don't suppose anyone knows if the Google Pixel will be supported on Three VoLTE and 800? I missed the announcement earlier about when it's going to be available too.
I think I'll probably get it as it's got an OLED screen right? quick charging USB-C, pretty decent battery, I quite like the design with the rear fingerprint reader etc. Even better if you can go into a service menu or manually select 4G. I guess nobody is going to know about Three support yet? |

Three isn't ranging it and no other Nexus phone has had VoLTE support thus far (just Wi-Fi Calling on EE) so I wouldn't expect any good news.
I would say that VoLTE support will come eventually, but to the Nexus phones and most others too. Three has, for example, started rolling out a new ROM for Huawei P9 owners that gives it. With the S7 and G5 having support, it's starting to - finally - happen. By the end of the year and early next, I hope VoLTE support will be in most phones - including those not supplied/sold by a network. |

In that case I might just get the iPhone 7 Plus, such a shame I WANT to buy but LG have screwed us over by not releasing the V20 in the UK and generally messing us about, Three aren't ranging the Pixel, Samsung have locked out the menu's too, the prices of the high end phones seem to have got a lot higher sim free and just generally I seem a bit disappointed right now.
The next Iphone is rumoured to be AMOLED, full screen, no home physical home button, sounds amazing but a long wait and I think I want a newer handset, but lack of VoLTE support and other things is disappointing. I'm unusually really not sure what I want to do. |

VoLTE seems to be getting sorted. When I spoke to Three recently, a week or so before the P9 update, I was told VoLTE support is a priority.
I think it is for EE and others, so hopefully you'll soon get firmware updates with the settings embedded - regardless of region. |

Another option is the Note 7, always on display, USB-C, Amoled,
Any options on the Note 7 for hidden menus or forcing 4G? If you don't buy the Note 7 from Three would it work with VoLTE and 800Mhz? £699 too, so cheaper than an iPhone, micro SD, and a really nice screen, and they're not catching fire any more I hear. |

Just found out the Pixel and Pixel XL will support VoLTE on EE straight away.
