Three UK have access to a lot of masts where they haven't even launched 4G 1800. They aren't exactly making the best use of the spectrum they already have.

iOS 10.0.3 / iOS 10.1 Beta 4 seem to have fixed the iPhone 7 vs Three 4G issue for me.

What's going on with the 1300mhz (or is it 1400?) spectrum they got then?

Isn't that the spectrum which could be purchased in the upcoming auctions? So, they don't yet have it (or might not ever have it)

No, they have purchased it. No idea what's happening with it though.

Incorrect, support has just started rolling out. The Xperia XZ, Pixel/XL and HTC 10 Lifestyle are among the first to support it.

Seems new devices using Huawei's Kirin 960 SoC will be capable too, supporting everything from 330MHz up to 3600MHz (or thereabouts). Support for 600/100 and 400/150Mbps 4G too.

Yes, it may still need more than just one single chip in the phone but from what was said at the launch of the chip today, there's a plan for a truly global phone.. but I don't know the finer details and it's still a bit too early to tell.
The first device will be announced in two weeks, although it's a rather niche device and it will probably be next March or April for the main flagship to come with it. (What's good, as an aside, is that Kirin 960 finally has a class leading GPU and could mean it will, finally, be able to truly compete with rival chipsets - and indeed could make Huawei devices a LOT more desirable to the masses. Especially if Emotion UI is toned down to be more native Android). |

Last few weeks have been a nightmare for me. When at home or in the office I am getting on and off signal. So texts are sporadic to say the least. Up until a few weeks ago I was fine at home and in the office.
I have fully reset my phone and its still the same. I contacted 3 and they have said they will look into it but it could be my phone. Its not my phone because in certain places I am fine. I've been with them for about 13 years. Looks like I may have to move on if things are no better soon. I can't even use three in touch at work as the wifi blocks it. Pointless having a phone. |

My new Xperia XZ arrived today and I'm happy with the phone. I've only been using it at home so far. I can make VoLTE calls fine but I do seem to be getting 4G800 a lot less than I was was using my Z3 on TinT. Toggling flight mode on and off only seems to put me back on H+ now as I've always been just shy of getting the 1800mhz signal

Sorry for double post. As soon I posted that it flicked back to 4G. The XZ doesn't show VoLTE as an icon unlike Samsungs.

Very interesting article http://blog.3g4g.co.uk/2016/10/volte...ernational&m=1 Quote:
170 million voice calls minutes have used VoLTE since the launch in Sept 2015 From looking at the slide share, 2900 sites may be activated?Only devices that can support VoLTE and 800MHz are allowed to camp on 800MHz band. This is to avoid disappointment with CS Fallback There are plans to roll out VoLTE in other bands too once all niggles are ironed out in the 800MHz band. It also confirms VoLTE-Wifi calling works, although I still don't understand whether it can only go 800-wifi calling or it will work with 1800 too. |

Like EE and irrespective of how many sites are active, Three needs to sort out handset support.
Either get native support on more devices, or expand inTouch to work on more devices. The Pixel XL I have doesn't work with VoLTE on Three, so that's yet another example of the mess the whole industry is in. |

Yes indeed it's something they need to continue working on.
2.3 million unique users surprised me though, I wonder how they are measuring this? There's a noticeable jump after the iPhones were enabled, but this trend continues to the present day. |

I think this is a solution they may be able to utilise but don't seem interested in it. That's the real reason we've had this in Android for so long and yet we don't have VoLTE running like setting up a APN for mobile data. When I spoke to someone within EE, I could sense the frustration - but EE, and likely others, are putting on the pressure for manufacturers to honour contractual obligations (I assume EE required all phones it has sold for some time to be ready, for example) and it seems that things are slowly beginning to happen. EE won't ever adopt an app based solution as a stop-gap, citing how buggy inTouch (and others it has looked at) can be, and the need for a separate dialler, but as Three has adopted an app, why can't it at least enable it for the many phones so far not supported - for whatever reason? |

As I said in the EE thread, that IS a solution but there's more to it than that. There needs to be an IMS stack on the phone too, and each manufacturer is doing their own - and there are compatibility problems.

It's really frustrating knowing as a 3 customer that I could pop an EE sim into my Google Store 6P and have WiFi calling work straight away without an awful outdated app running in the background. I'd be extremely happy if they let me on the 800Mhz network too as I don't get any signal in my living room on 3G or 4G, seems like another odd choice. |

Does anyone have any idea when native Wi-Fi calling is coming to iOS?
I saw it promo'd on their inTouch page as coming soon, but it has since been removed. |
