So they're not planning to exceed EE's coverage today on the 1800? Damn that's cheap. I can only hope it will change if they get o2's spectrum.
NI really looks abandoned on that map as well. |

Someone doesn't actually need to be at the mast for them to perform maintenance to it. They can do other things remotely.

NI really looks abandoned on that map as well. On another note I've just switched back to Three from EE and I've got to say, in south Wales at least, whilst the network isn't better overall than EE (far less 4G coverage at the moment) it does seem quite a bit more stable. For example, on my morning train journey from Swansea to Cardiff I'm able to stream consistently with no interruption, whereas EE couldn't do it so well - it would drop out fairly regularly. |

It's possible we could have a "Just how much isn't happening" competition......
It could be multi network (I realise this a a Three thread). Perhaps a new "Good God, I've been literally blown away by how must just is not happening lately" thread. I'll kick it off here though. EE 3G same as it was 2 years ago. 2G same as it was about 8 years ago. 4G Mast still not on. Orange - still crappy shitty gprs or 3G that doesn't work. I'm not sure I can cope with the pace of change really...... Sorry, guys, gotta go and sit down...... : ) |

![]() ![]() As; Do nothing very slowly or stop if there is even the slightest possibility of finishing something, is Three's mission statement, then no news is always good news for Three! "MAKING it better" but never "MADE it better". |

Three is quickly becoming the Sprint of the UK promising various things and not producing.

Now EE and Vodafone have definitely missed the 'Summer' targets, will Three be the first to launch VoLTE?

I mean it seems pointless having voice transmitted over something that isn't here. |

I've got admit i'm loving all the "Three promised 800MHz from September - it's now August and its not on yet so they're liars!" stuff going around. Lets see what next month brings and THEN feel free to slate them!! I've spotted loads of sites around the place that have had the new fatter panels added - some in urban areas, some on motorways and some in the middle of nowhere!
Based on the new kit that SEEMS to be ready to switch on i'm going to reserve judgment until it actually is live. |

I reckon the networks will all wait for the Apple iPhone event and release their new capabilities to entice people to sign up to new contracts with a new phone.

Remember when all our towns were on a big fat list for 4G by the end of 2014, only for them to just not do any of it and then drop the list in December 2014? Then remember that there were comments about all those that were on that list but were not on the new one A4 page new list, would be done in the first quarter of 2015 and that came and went. So if in September everyone's 4G lights up then it will be great, but still months over-due and after false promises. Then of course if the months come and go and nothing happens, all we will see it as is usual for Three UK. |

They said they aimed to switch on in September. They never said it would all be switched on in one go but there was an assumption, but that's always risky.
Nobody can moan yet. It's August. And nobody said it was September 1st either. Save the moans up, as there's always a chance they can still be used at the end of the month!! |

I'll be slightly irritated if they manage to limit it to VoLTE only phones though. I have an 800MHz capable phone without VoLTE |

Did 3 ever mention any specific months? I though they said Autumn which is almost a month from starting yet and ends a few days before Christmas day. Just saying.

I'd certainly want 800 access on a mobile broadband SIM at the very least.
I would hope they're on target for the 800 switch on. VoLTE is perhaps a different kettle of fish as I believe all networks have issues at the outset. Given there has to be internal and then 'friendly' testing, if anything did get found during either of these processes then it would justifiably be delayed. |

The latest post to Three's VoLTE blog says the following: Quote:
VoLTE will be rolled out in batches to customers over the next year and into the end of 2016. We don’t have a date for when the roll out will start but watch this space for more info
