So E/U/ARFCN 1367 = 10MHz frequency and E/U/ARFCN 1392 would be the extra 15MHz.

Is 4G still capped to 50Mb/s? I got this result last night.
I got 64Mb download and 18Mb uplioad the other day so guess not? I was 1 bar away from been full signal.

A three mast here was down all day yesterday, no work was planned, maybe it just went down coincidentally.. Also last night at 1.30am my local mast shut off, was still off when i slept at 2.30, but back on this morning.. Three are doing something sneaky

Yes! It's broadcasting at 600 billion giga-watts and downloading at 88TB a second!

(But only in the area of my mind and sadly nowhere else!)

No. Anyone fancy marching on Downing Street?

I'm in Germany right now. Couldn't activate the Euro Internet Pass. Had to end up on hold to customer services for just under 30 minutes, who did it but couldn't explain why I'd failed.

Can't wait to see if I can renew the pass at midnight tonight or if I'll be calling 333 every day of my trip to IFA...

You didn't fail, Three did. Three's site has been playing up all day and trying it just now gives the error message; "There is a problem: This service is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

Well something should be happening in my area as we had work on the 20/8 and work today, tomorrow and the day after. With three consecutive days I would hope that 4G is activated soon. In addition to that the coverage map for my area does seem to be being updated very regularly and it is now showing some outdoor 4G (which isn't true) and it didn't have that a few days ago.

Let's see what happens over the next couple of days.

You say isn't true, but have you tried forcing your phone to 4G only as often with the outdoor signal it just prefers 3G over 4G or takes a long time to move on to 4G, especially if you have any data transfer, it needs to rest from data transfer before it'll move to 4G, rebooting the device or going into airplane mode and back out can sometimes kick it on to 4G.

Also, several of us have had days of maintenance and it doesn't necessarily mean anything, I could be anything.

The map still isn't showing the 4G they have live in Hull, despite the first cell going live nearly a month ago. Maybe they're waiting for the whole area to be covered before showing it on their map...

Thanks, I gave the it a few goes outside but no joy. I get what you say about work but this will be 4 days of work in the last 2 weeks so if no 4g then it's probably off to EE for me on the 18th September (iPhone 6 Plus S).

It is a big switch on (10th Sept), over 50 per cent of population on that date going to 65 per cent at end of 2015. The signal will "smash through walls".

Thanks for the info iTech, now we wait for the 10th and see if it works, or all goes pear shaped.

Or of course if it's postponed at the last minute...

Does it require VoLTE support in the phone, or just 800MHz?

My phone can do 800MHz but it doesn't have VoLTE. I am fairly sure 3 already has 800MHz kit up and running around me, so it would be disappointing if I can't really use it

Strange that they are (allegedly) going to switch on all these new frequencies and not one person has seen a sniff of testing.

You would expect to get 1000s of reports of "Oh! 4G just popped up on 800mhz for an hour this morning but now it's gone". Are they really just going to turn it all on and see what the result was after the event?

Should we start lining our walls with tin foil to prevent damage?

They've been testing 800 for a LONG time. But there were ways to hide it from public view.

They can easily run 800MHz but keep it away from the plebs - similar to how the original 4G launch was preceded by a period where it was trialists/staff/engineers only (i.e. the SIM cards/accounts that they want to allow to use it) and then after the launch, not everyone could access it at once. Or even for commercial reasons - see the networks that force you to move to a "4G plan" or buy a "4G addon" to get access

Even if 4G did pop up, it isn't immediately obvious which band it is using

OMG, this is incredible. I predict coverage in my area is going to be.........the same as it's been for the last 10 years.

Three 4G has disappeared ( for me ) in Birmingham City Centre ( Jewellery Quarter ) I'm guessing some serious work must be underway as the 4G signal over the past year or so has been great indoors and out.
