Ok, I don't know how to upload images so I'll have to type out the important bits:

"Say goodbye to indoor blackspots with new 4G Super-Voice

How will we be informing our existing customers about it
If a customer lives in a 4G Super-Voice area (check coverage checker from 10th Sep to see which are 4G Super-Voice areas) and has a phone that supports it, they'll notice their signal smash through walls.

Existing customers will receive a notification if it's coming to thei area - just make sure to tell them to download the latest software updates so their phone is ready to go."

There is a section that talks about the 4G Super-Voice staff trial.

On the second page it says:

"We're starting the roll out on the 10th September in major cities (listed below) meaning that at launch we ain to reach 50% of the UK population.

By the end of 2015 we're aiming to provide 65% UK population coverage with the roll out continuing into 2016.

The roll out will continue into 2016".

So what will this do to overall 4G coverage? 65% clearly isn't 4G coverage as they are near that already so will the above mean a big jump in 4G (VOLTE and non-VOLTE) coverage?

Thanks for that information.

I'm cautious of this rollout, as we all know, Three's history is full of promise lots, deliver... very little.

Is the list of cities available?

You can use a service like imgur to upload pictures and link to them in this thread.

That 4G 'super voice' marketing... *vom*

"Say goodbye to indoor blackspots "

My whole town is a 4G blackspot!*

So another Three Roll-out. I'll order in the popcorn!

*But only on Three as all other networks already have 4G here.

Yeah it'd be interesting to see the list of cities if you have the time to uploadthe release / type them out

Three would literally have to smash down walls if they want their coverage to extend into houses around here...

Three are great at making lists, but notoriously bad at sticking to them before dropping them altogether.

I wonder if it's the recently old list or the infamous "By the end of 2014" list or a whole new one that they have no intention of sticking to?

Hopefully this works. If this list works as previous ones don't blame me!

Should we start lining our walls with tin foil to prevent damage?
I'm getting a bunker ready!

Great news iTech.
It seems Three are beginning to be realistic about coverage targets, 50-65% seems reasonable for 800MHz.

I hope they publish the list of compatible handsets on Thursday 10th, I have a G4 and Z3 which hopefully I can test it on.

So it's called 4G Super Voice and it's going to appear on the coverage checker as a separate thing. You do need a supported phone and potentially software updates for those phones.

This sounds as if going to be 800MHz+VoLTE rolled out hand in hand and only working together. Seen as it's marketed as "Super Voice" it's clearly not going to be enabled on 800MHz devices without VoLTE support. But what about MiFis.

What I do wonder is about device support. For example, I own a Nexus 6 with the correct band support and VoLTE support, my "VoLTE Provisioned Flag" is on, but obviously Three can't push a software update to an unbranded device.

Easy enough if you own a Samsung device, just flash the relevant Three ROM and away you go.

Will it work on unbranded devices with the correct hardware specs? I hope so.

EDIT:
Oooohh my town is on that list, exciting stuff, thanks for sharing!

Three are working to get as many handsets to be compatible with their VoLTE network. It will require a software update to start working.

I'll try and get a list of compatible phones for you shortly.

It will roll out to everyone by end of 2016 with a VoLTE compatible device.

Also watch out this week for more announcements from EE and Vodafone

Oh look! Sod all in the whole of East Kent yet again!

No Folkestone. No Dover. No Nothing!

Seriously what have they got against East Kent? It's just as shitty as many other places that have 4G.

So instead of getting their fingers out of their backsides and getting 4G out to all it's customers, they may in fact be bringing out something else just for a few with the right phones?

This is a Carry On film in the making. "Carry On: Making Lists" Not coming out anywhere near you soon!

You tease

I see Newcastle on the list, I'll pop my Three sim in on the 10th and see if I'm connecting to any 800, although there's blanket 1800 here at the minute. Do we know if 800 is going to be on a higher priority or will it just be chance which frequency you connect on?

EDIT: Or will it be 1800 then connect to 800 for calls?

I would think 800MHz is on a lower priority and will only be used when needed. Calls could then go over 1800MHz or 800MHz.

It's going to be 800.

Everyone who has a phone that supports 800 will get VoLTE eventually. Its just a case of when really. If you have a popular phone and live in one of the launch areas then it could very well be before the end of this month.

Does that include the Nexus 6 jabba, a device that was never sold by Three?

Really? I thought the general consensus here before was that only newer phones will get the update and older but compatible phones won't get it, and that that phones not bought from Three wouldn't ever get VoLTE (unless you were able to flash the Three firmware like some people have been trying with EE and the Samsung phones to get WiFi Calling working).

Only 800MHz?
So no Honor 6?

I'm not convinced that my Nexus 5 (which supports 800MHz) will be getting VoLTE any time soon, even though the hardware supports it.

Newer phones first. But Three are working to get pretty much every phone enabled to use VoLTE.

Tbh I'd just wait till the official announcement. Things might have changed from what I was told.

Time to start saving up for a Note 4 then. (Which I was thinking about anyway)

Have to make sure I get the right one with the right bands and VoLTE as well.

If you want to be 100% certain you'll get VoLTE, get an iPhone.
