Would you mind if I ask you which part? I've only ever got it on Broadoak Rd and parts of Sturry Rd... The city centre would be great..
I work in Canterbury but don't know it well.
I first dicovered 4G in Asda car park.
It also worked in (I think) Northgate area. If that is past asda to next roundabout and keep going straight on.

Yeah I discovered it near Asda last week and behind Asda on Broadoak Rd which is where I believe the mast is as the signal went to full bars. Just a shame it's not right in the Main Street in Canterbury. Signal is dodgy at the best of time. I'd settle for a strong 3G signal in the city centre. We really need this 800mhz frequency for penetration reasons.

I thought parts of Folkestone had 4G? I was surprised to find a part of Canterbury with 4G... Not the city centre though which I found strange! I just want a decent signal in my house, is it too much to ask!!!😀
Folkestone (as in the town) has O2, Vodafone and EE 4G, but no 4G on Three on either 1800 or 800.

Sandgate (Technically Seabrook) has Three's 4G on nice 1800 as it's full of rich people.

In a weeks time, Folkestone may have 4G on 800mhz but that still means I need a new phone as I can't get 800mhz.

Looking into getting a Note 4 anyway as if you put more than 3 apps on my current phone, it's full!

I work in Folkestone so if I get anything I'll let you know! The area map states it has 4G but it doesn't.. Loads of work being done though so I just hope it's not a disaster.

Are you in my area of Folkestone or is everyone having "Improvements" done on the 7th?
Seems to say the 7th for all the postcodes in Kent I tried. A customer's one on the centre of London changes the date to the 8th.

Broadstairs transmitter is 7th and 9th.
Will be out of action between 6 and 8 hours on both days.

You might have been done already or not or maybe or......
If it is related to 800MHz that may be true, as I've said before I seem to be able to pick up something in 3's 800MHz allotment, so perhaps they have already done work here

Yes please let me know anything you find!

What area map are you using? I have good(ish) 3G but no 4G.

http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Network/Coverage

Stick CT20 1HT in that and then on the 4G tab.

Same map as you! If you look at CT19 4RH It States good 4G signal but there is no 4G.. Very misleading really. However there is a large mast not far away so if it's upgrades them maybe soon.. Fingers crossed.

All the postcodes around my area I've checked say we are aware of network problems you've been having from 15th March to 4th September we are doing everything we can to fix the problem updates every 30 minutes.

What does this mean and what's going on? No 4G from a mast near me for about 3 months now whereas it worked perfectly before. And in the next town from me no signal at all on 3g or 4g checked the postcode there and same message, although in that area there was never 4g but full 3g.

Are they gearing up for the 800Mhz switch on or what.

Seems a bit ridiculous.
Looking on http://public.londonworks.gov.uk there are two works going on, 03 to 06 and 12th September 2015.

West Hendon Broadway NW9 - 03/09/2015 to 06/09/2015
Installation of new concrete base and all assocaited ducting , landing of pogona cabinet.

Lawrence Street NW7- 12/09/2015
General Housekeeping works on Telecom cabine,t 1.2m will ...?????????

4G ok here in HA8 near hale lane, No idea what phone mast they doing on lawrence street as there is two Three mast.

That's the over spill of the Sandgate/Seabrook 1800 4G mast.

However, (yes I'm sad and have really done this) last week I walked all the way into Sandgate, up through the valley and into Cheriton; monitoring and getting silly looks all the way. Even in Sandgate the signal isn't that strong and very easily lost. Once you get into Cheriton, even though according to that map you should get it outside, there is not a sign of it on my phone. Best I got on my entire trip was 2 bars in just one high place. So it might be strong actually in Seabrook, but in fact dies very quickly outside of that one small area. (That map is VERY optimistic to say the least.)

Also for completeness: If I walk halfway from Folkestone to Sandgate and walk out onto one of the arms of the new sea defences and stand on the end bench with the phone in the air like the status of liberty, as it's in direct line-of-sight of Sandgate, I can get 1 bar of 4G (1800).

But the actual town of Folkestone has nothing (yet)

Let's hope all that changes soon! With all this work going on there must be some hope! I have forced it on 4G but it quickly returned to 3G.. I have an iPhone 6 so should get the 800mhz if and when it happens! I am so sad, I'm checking the planned maintenance site several times a day

My area has no maintenance listed at all, but there was some done late last month when my local site went down, so maybe it's done, but afaik the antennas on my local sites aren't capable of 800MHz, so I'm not quite sure, my town is on that list to launch on the 10th.

Remember about a month or more ago when Three changed the 4G coverage map and significantly reduced the footprint nationally? I wonder if they did that in order to make the 800MHz coverage look much better in comparison.

Perhaps someone could explain this to me, I had a play around looking at the JavaScript source on Three's coverage checker and I noticed that you could lookup on their API manual here http://www.three.co.uk/maintenance/c...json&postcode= I noticed some references to 800MHz in the code here and I noticed 800 mentioned in the API response. Anyone got any idea about this?

Edit: I think I may possible have found a way to see the 800 coverage on the map. Someone please confirm. Open the 3 coverage map then open your web browser's console and type window.coverageTypeToSearch = "800"; exactly then press enter then h3g.coverageChecker.addOverlay(); exactly. I think it shows the 800 coverage. I can't exactly tell at the moment because I'm on crap internet and a crap computer but can someone anyone tell?

Right I've had a look and it's certainly the 800MHz coverage map. Looks quite good to be honest. Here are comparison between band 3 and band 20 images. Sorry for the pin in the way http://imgur.com/a/uTkPj

Tried it for my area, it goes from no 4G to pretty much blanket outdoor coverage, indoor coverage doesn't seem to have changed though.

Good find

I'm in Berlin and nowhere near a computer right now so can someone check coverage for AL10 9FL so I can see if it's going to get 800?

An image link would be even better!

Cheers.

After doing that I now see a fair bit of 4G in mid Cornwall. In my area it seems to practically mirror EE's 1800 coverage - same gaping blackspots, my house is close to the edge of coverage but within it

I'm guessing that the stuff I saw with that LTE scanner app was very much real and (for once) it'll be one of the first places to get 800 with 3

(I also now see a maintenance message like everyone else for the 7th)

I also see "devicespeed":{"postcode":"800 Coming","speed":"100"}" in the API thing but that might be something everyone gets

"UpsellForecast":"The network signal in this area is due to be <a href=\"/Discover/network/4G_Supervoice\"><u>super-pumped<\/u><\/a> super-pumped in the next 3 months. Enter your device to see if it's compatible."}} lol

Thankyou so much lightspeed2398. The difference is amazing, still looks a little optimistic in some locations I know but can't wait to see what happens when I'm able to test it.

Tried it for a few of the areas I am interested in (including my home town), looks like I'm going to be pretty lucky with coverage. From looking around it's quite a jump in 4G coverage across the board. I wonder if this is day one coverage (Sept 10th) or by the end of the year? Still no Northern Ireland which is a real pain (how difficult can it be)!
