Wow, is that number a demonstration of O2 voice quality? Is it a preview of what we've got to look forward to if the purchase is allowed to go ahead?

While we are on the subject of 'in touch', mine crapped out the other day and wanted me to reactivate which constantly threw an error. Didn't help that my 3 mast seems to be breathing in more than usual so 3G is now sketchy where it used to be good.

Anyway, decided to uninstall the app and start again. Still won't activate and now wants me to call 333 which I can't be arsed to do. Any ideas?

I'm surprised that it isn't actually encoded in something that would sound really good through HD Voice. Maybe 3's getting out of licensing costs by saying "well it doesn't really sound like your song so we don't have to pay"?

I'd go as far as to say it is half-rate O2 (which is probably more like quarter rate GSM if such a codec existed)

Not to be beaten by Apple, 3 are moving into the world of live radio stations via phone. £1.50/min.

Unfortunately, in line with 3's new maximum profit, minimum investment objectives, they've only managed to afford to buy one song and no DJs

This number is actually designed to inform Three that you are happy for your speed to be limited to 1Kbps.

I'm getting crazy fast speeds again. I'm not sure if 800MHz and 1800MHz are being combined and phone just isn't telling me it's 4G+ (LTE-A). These are not one off. They are consistent. I am getting 98mbps download and 32mbps upload.

I'm getting 55.79Mbps down and 22.56Mbps up at the moment, the fastest I've had so far on Three.

Just plays 'Stereophonics - Have a nice day' on repeat, but it's handy to see how far the call can go on WiFi till it drops off.”

Excellent, Dial-a-Disc is back!

Crikey, what are they up to?

Not getting the extra love here. Still trundling along with around 3Mbps.

EE on the other hand; 97Mbps.

Bit of a difference.

Doubt it's 4G+ I guess the backhaul may be good as well. Remember 15MHz of 1800MHz tops out at 112.5Mbps so it's possible to achieve that speed just off a single carrier. Although I do have to admit those speeds are incredible. They just need to improve coverage now which I believe is still the same knowing what Three have been like with their current 4G rollout.

Agreed, I was just writing a similar post actually before I deleted it accidentally

A question for the technical people on here, for Three to do carrier aggregation would they need to make 800MHz the PCC for VoLTE to continue to work without CSFB(given that 1800MHz isn't currently setup to allow VoLTE), or could they somehow make VoLTE work over the SCC?

I won a S6 Edge so hence, its SIM only. Reading through XDA Developers to see if there is any way to put the Three firmware on a SIM only phone reveals that as of 5.1.1 (the current firmware for non-operator specific phones), Samsung closed all loopholes to allow downgrading. Attempting it could realise the real possibility of bricking your phone. And of course, as per Murphy's Law, the Three specific firmware won't be upgraded to 5.1.1 until all the non-operator firmwared phones upgrade to Marshmallow.

And it appears they still haven't fixed the bug with VoLTE which requires a power station to be connected to your S6 Edge at all times to keep it alive.

Don't give TuneIn ideas.

Except Lincolnshire, the last place in the UK free of Heart.

No, I agree, I mean I've had more than I had last night and that was an impromptu "do you want to go to the pub for a pint or five"? moment!
Regarding CA on Three I feel we should be be thinking perhaps we should learn to walk before we try to run!!!

Surely the power 1800 would need to be cranked up for CA?

What phone do you have? I upgraded from 6 to 6S+ which apparently isn't compatible with InTouch and 3 can't say when it will be! This leaves me with no service in a lot of indoor locations now. Time to move on in a couple of months when my sim only plan is up.

Just left EE after having bought a SIM-free iPhone 6s and switched to a SIM-only contract with 3.

I live in Eltham but often travel to the Midlands and the North East. I have to say that with just a day in Eltham, I'm disappointed with the signal. It is nearly always just 3G and compared with EE (which was nearly always 4G) it's quite poor.

Anyone any ideas how I might improve this? Is this anything to complain about or do I just have to accept it?!

The last one made sense it just looked like it had been translated from a foreign language!!
No wouldn't need to be cranked up but they would have to prioritise 800 over 3G I would have thought though. unless when on 1800 a CA device can "grab" the lower priority carrier which when in single carrier mode it wouldn't normally use.
In other words I don't know if devices can combine carriers regardless of their priorities or whether the carriers have to be adjacent in priority.
Someone said that Three were going to alter the priorities anyway.

"thought though"...... no wonder English is so bloody difficult to learn!!!

OK thanks. Priorities changed I wonder why that is. If 3G becomes the fall back. I'll never use it at home. Interesting to see what happens. I wonder how the ironing out of VO is going or are people still having the life sucked out of their batteries ??

Could they be changing there stratergy and doing a full 800 rollout to every mast?
