Isn't it also because at the moment 800 in on the lowest priority.
So you would have to go somewhere the map shows 800 but no 3G in order to pick it up.
Unless of course you have a phone where you can force 4G only.

I allegedly live in a "supercharged" area and can force my mifi to 800 only. Still doesn't work

Just spoken to Three Technical section and they are adamant that the iPhones have now been enabled through the iOS 9.02 update. The guy was very dismissive when I said what the updates were on the Three blog saying that they are the technical team and they know what they are talking about. There is work in my area planned for the 19th October and he said that after that I should start to see 4G (there is only "Super Voice" flavour of 4G in my are) as it should get to the point of being stronger than 3G (he did confirm that Super Voice sits behind 3G at the moment). Very mixed messages about all of this and the only reason I care is that I live in a part of the world that mainly only is covered by Super Voice 4G.

Well I for one don't get Super voice even though it is enabled on the announced handsets, the iPhone hasn't been updated yet.

What's the special 3 tech query number for mast upgrades etc? 333 seem pretty good so far, they know which phones support super voice and know the difference between 1800 and 800.

Got though to second line support who knew their stuff (yes, I did kinda 'test') and also answered my technical questions very nicely.

Amazing! I couldn't understand a word they were saying, I gave up.

Anyone know when Three will be enabling mobile broadband devices and tablets for 800? I have various contacts and have such conflicting information, I don't have a clue.

I'm not even on EE 800 yet and that's going to be 5Mhz.
Hope they pull a few tricks!!

I've noticed more 4G coverage in the Telford area, they've enabled the site outside Wellington Railway Station for 4G... it had good 3G speeds, so 4G is a bonus..

For Telford, there is almost blanket 4G coverage now on Three, if only they'd sort out the issues with the Transmitter site on Reynolds House in Ketley i'd be one happy three customer!

I do find in comparison that O2/Vodafone only have 1 transmitter for 4G in Market Drayton for the whole of Shropshire quite embarrassing!

Three have done a very good job with 4g in Telford, much better then other similarly sized towns, trouble is due to the power used coverage is far from blanket so any streaming or Spotify use means your quickly stuck back on 3g which doesn't work in so many areas I couldn't steam a thing in the end. Soon as I realised 800mhz was not going to solve the issue anytime soon I had to leave.

Who have you moved to out of interest, and what tarriff? and what has been your experience been compared to three in Telford?

I'm asking as i've just got an iPhone 6S, but i'm on an out of contract SIM only deal with three, so i can leave at anytime.

Probably not but I expect they put it off since that date is when we should see a DeLorean materialise from a time portal from 1985.....

Testing out 800MHz for the first time right now. Despite the coverage at my home address supposedly being "good" I only get a -115dBm signal so it's definitely not my nearest mast. Still, it shows how fast the signal travels (the mast it's connected to is miles and miles away).

Getting around 8Mb down, 1Mb up. VoLTE just works on the G4 and voice quality seems very good (granted I only called 333 but it still sounded good).

Did you know you can rent 'Jackson' for a party for £5,000?

Local 3 shop said their intranet was down today so was unable to help me in any way.

(btw Did you also know the Sony Z5C has an 'add a gorilla face' built in?)

Wow 800MHz just goes on forever! Very impressive coverage and speed is still at 4Mb even at a -120dBm signal.

-101dBm signal gives a speed of around 20Mb which is more than enough for anything so I'd say 800MHz could work quite well for Three...

The trick now is to call someone else on Three VoLTE and see if you get the same awesome voice quality I get when calling another EE WiFi calling user.
Thanks though. At last someone has made a call on 800!!!!

This is the speed you can expect to receive when very far away from a mast (-125dBm signal): http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/1514098771
