as most people probably know Alison King is leaving for some time in 2016.

I know it's a wee while off, but will Carla be wrongly accused of lighting the fire and go to jail for a bit? I hope not. I know the truth about Tracy starting does come out but it's unprovable, no idea what SB means by that?

I think it will either be that or she'll leave because she loses the factory and doesn't see any point in sticking around. I'm so fed up of Carla never getting any happiness. I don't blame Ali for taking a break for a bit, she must be exhausted from all the heartbreak they put Carla through.

I would love for her to have an exit like Becky's.

I think the fire will indirectly lead to her exit in some way, SB pretty much said that in a few interviews before it aired, but I don't think she'll be send to prison for it. Technically she *might* face manslaughter charges, but it'd be very difficult to prove and considering she isn't leaving until early 2016 I doubt it will happen.

I think it's more likely the guilt will send her on a downward spiral that will lead to her losing the factory (Alya and Sally will probably quit over the fire) and she'll move to LA to take some conviently timed job offer from her friend out there, or something.

...............Technically she *might* face manslaughter charges......................
Really? I thought there had to be a crime which led, without intention, to a death. If so, what was the crime?

It's possible that Tracy could be guilty of manslaughter, though even then, what's the crime? She took someone's keys, with the intention of returning them, and used them to enter the flat. That's trespass, I'd have thought. It could be criminal trespass, but again where's the intent?

I can't see Blackburn being in the job for Carla's return. Surely he's been doing it for long enough that they'd consider a change. So my only hope for whoever takes over and if Alison King does return, is that they put Carla into the Rovers and build a new team of staff around her.

I think Alison will be on the cobbles a while longer before she leaves.

I know we are supposed to believe that Alison is taking a break from CS and will be returning and that is the official line from CS. However do we know if Alison will still be under contract and how long is her break for? 12 months, 18 or even 24? It all seems a little vague.

I remember when Letitia Dean left EE in the mid 90's, they said it was a break and look how many years it took to get her back. I hope I am wrong, but I just have this doubt in my mind.

Jake Wood in EE is taking 12 months out but has signed a new contract to return after this period. Should CS fans be worried?

As in worried that she'll return? Yes, I'm afraid that if she fails at conquering hollywood, or having a chat show, trying to get a job as an actress or whatever, she'll expect to be able to return, just because she wants to.

I think she will return. Alison King comes across in interviews that she loves the role of Carla and even said in October last year that when she does leave it won't be a permanent one. However, how many years is another question. It will depend on how much work she gets after coronation street, and I can see work coming her way she's a brilliant actress so can't see her struggling for work. Hope it's only for a year or two though I love carla. Hopefully Stuart Blackburn will be gone by the time she returns.

Negligence maybe? Because Amy was in the flat? I'm sure in reality there'd be nothing to charge her with, but this is corrie and SB so I'm half expecting something.

I think Ali intends to come back at the moment, after x amount of time. But whether she actually will or not I'm not sure. Like you said it depends what roles she gets, and actually how they write Carla out as well.

Now, now, no need for that. King is different to many soap actors, I think she could quite easily survive without CS. It has worked well for the likes of Suranne Jones, Sally Lindsay, Katherine Kelly, Sarah Lancashire. Look at the likes of Sue Johnston after Brookside. However I do get your point, you cant have your cake and eat it, unless you are that talented the soap can't do without you.
