I know some people don't like kids on BGT but I think in the first series Connie Talbot handled the pressure really well in the first series and I liked her in the first series and I enjoyed Lagi dancing with his dad and the two boys from diversity and I enjoyed the two young girls from Spellbound being used as a skipping rope and I enjoyed Kieran Gaffney in the 4th series playing the drums:

Connie is still a great singer now and she is good at singing upto date music as well

Natalie Okri was very good IMO, and Jesse-Jane!

Depends what we mean by kids. I'm on with a lower age limit of about 14 but a bit iffy below that. The ones in Diversity or the kids like James last year and Henry this year who act their age are absolutely fine but my absolute pet hate is 11 year olds singing adult songs that they can't possibly have a clue about. The likes of little girls singing Whitney numbers make me toes curl. Possibly worse for me are the cutesy ones who are quite rubbish but get voted through purely for being young - those are real pass the sick bucket ones

Never understood the appeal of Stavros Flatley so can't say I liked either the father on son.

Didn't watch the year Spellbound were on so don't have an opinion and my post shows pretty clearly what I think of kid singers

Didn't you like Connie Talbot? You didn't watch the year when Spellbound won? Faryl and Connie were good. Did you like Connie?

Diversity were great. Like Entity All-Stars also. The Kanneh Masons and Kieran Gaffney were great too. Apart from that, kids are never as good as the adult acts IMO.

Totally agree. Hate these young girls that come on belting out really age-inappropriate songs. They rarely sing them consistently well either - just chuck in enough huge notes that people forget about all the times they ran out of breath or were flat.

/Thread. Pretty much gets it in a nut.

Would have added in JJMcP last night until she acted her age at the end (no surprise, wee mite, even my stone heart went a bit - and I couldn't give a damn about little Ms Edelweiss).

Actually those stage school kids and/or pushy parents are a delight to see fall - harsh? yes, but no more so than the look on Greg Pritchard's face getting conned out of a place in the final because of it IMO. JJMcP last night is an honourable exception.

Were age appropriate - and weirdly looked younger than they actually were! Even I loved them. They and Diversity are still the apex for this show.

None. Why do some people - and the judges - automatically say "Aaaw!" when they see a child on stage - how patronising! Dickens hit the nail on the head with his creation of the "infant phenomenon". She, too, was dressed younger than her years for a gullible audience! Appearing on this sort of show is not healthy for children - witness the tears.

Amongst my favourites were George Sampson, Ronan Parke, Bars and Melody, Aidan Davis and Bailey McConnel (whom has just toured the USA would u believe!)
