I recently enjoyed the story of the German Shepherd dog that was awarded the St George Cross gor his bravery in detecting bombs in Afghanistan.

There was also a story a few years back of George the brave dog who was a Yorkshire terrier who protected a young girl in a park who was being attacked by two pit bull terriers. He was also awarded the St George Cross[quote=academia;82388609]

Grace of God?

No - it was grace of gorilla!

Baby sloths are sweet, but animals are always better when people don't try to 'humanise' them - a sloth with a ribbon in its hair is not a good thing, neither are dogs dressed up in stupid costumes (normal dog coats to keep them dry and warm are okay, dresses, hats and boots are not...) and as for painting their nails - makes me cross! Just love animals for what they are - they aren't babies!

Rant over...

Having said that, this made me laugh...

I totally agree but that photo is wonderful!

Not cute but just a bit of fun.

Find all these animals in 5 seconds or less.

The Bull snake and the Timber rattler defeated me.

I found the leopard and the wolf, that's all. Guess I was never meant to survive in the wild!

Giant caterpillar web cordoned off after becoming visitor attraction

"A 30ft-long caterpillar web beside a Stirling DIY store has been cordoned off after becoming a tourist attraction.

Thousands of caterpillars have covered a bush with the giant nest beside the city's Wickes store.

Visitors from as far away as Motherwell have travelled to see the unusual sight.

The creatures feed on cherry trees, hawthorn and blackthorn and build the webs to ward off predators."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...ntral-36399909

Bet that's a sight to see.

Not cute but interesting ( i think we could expand this into a general animal thread if it's ok with the OP).

More heroes here:

I certainly remember Obi, he became London's most beloved police officer overnight!
He gets treated like royalty whenever he's off-duty, and rightly so.
