I am normally not the biggest fan of the human race, but sometimes life proves me wrong.
Very heartwarming story about a lost cat reunited with his family, against all odds:

The beautiful little lizards that nobody noticed.

We have plenty of nice animals on this thread - here are some recent articles on the activities of one of the nastiest - Homo sapiens.

A new film on canned hunting in Africa and why Orcas should never be kept in captivity - one of the most important reasons is that Orcas are the most social animal on the planet - including humans.

For those of you who like cute or cuddly looking animals, here is the Rosy Maple Moth (Dryocampa rubicunda).

Now that is a really cute little moth. I don't mind moths, it's their erratic flight that unnerves me. If they'd waft around like butterflies they'd be welcome in my house.

These little guys lived in my garden wall in Mallorca and I loved it when they would appear in the house on walls and ceiling. My cat spent most nights hunting them and she could somehow spot the babies in the dark, pick them up without hurting them and bring them in. They were an inch to inch and half long, like tiny jewels. I spent a lot of time rescuing them because she then wanted to play with them and one pat of her paw would have killed them.
