1. Give her a personality beyond 'moany teenager'.
2. After Maddie leaves, Sophie turns into a bloodthirsty psychopath who kills every Lesbian who tries to go out with her because 'she's not Maddeh'.
3. Have the character fired from working at the shop for being too miserable and replace her with Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud.
4. Have Sophie fight Billy and Sean for a overly-contrived reason for their falling out.

I like your ideas

It's a shame Maddie is leaving, as i've grown to like them as couple.

Just have her smile once in a while and I'll be happy.

She's probably forgotten how to smile.

Get her to `lose faith in the lord` after Maddie`s departure and start behaving badly.

I'm assuming she doesn't plan to work in the Corner Shop the rest of her life so let's see some ambition from her. I'd like to see her get involved with charities again.

I think she has more scope if they turn her back to men but yeah they need her to do more than just be in the corner shop

it's a turn of phrase

she liked men to start with ? the whole sian thing was meant to be a love story rather than about her being a lesbian but they kept her as one after she left so who's to say the next one won't be male.

one of my school friends was straight then had a relationship with a woman, engeaged and everything. they split and she dated women and menbut now only men

They will not (and should not) turn her back to men.

However they should find a reason for her to lose her religious beliefs.

This does not mean that she would necessarily go bad.

I agree that they should give her a job that allows her to meet more people (police officer, social worker, nurse etc).

Unfortunately it seems that these days that characters in Corrie almost always have to work on or around the street.

The only chance of developing Sophie is to replace the actress. Brooke Vincent is cack and should have been replaced years ago.

Agreed. I don't want her to go back to charities. She's been there done that. As for "turning back to men" she could be so broken hearted over Maddie that she has a one night stand with a man but decides she doesn't want to do it again and stays single for some time before falling in love with another girl. I think she would lose her faith after Maddie dying, if Maddie dies that is and maybe goes off the rails drinking for a while but I don't want her to become an alcoholic like Emmerdale's Laurel.

Get her involved in lesbo sex scenes with Kylie.

A ratings winner. I guarantee it.

You do in Soapland, sexuality keeps changing back and forth, Emmerdale is full of them.

Solutions:

1) Get the actress who plays Kylie to act a lesbian.
2) Put the episodes on after 9pm.

Nothing will make the actress interesting, no matter how jaw-dropping the storyline is because she is played by a dull actress who simply cannot act and that voice.... Like nails down a blackboard!

This is already a given, wait and see, lol. It was that awful, mean spirited man called God that made poor Maddie run in front of the exploding old paint cans, the swine.

Like the idea of the serial killer Sophie, it's about the only thing could me find her infinitesimally interesting again.

But what about if she becomes so distraught and despairing after Maddie's death that she starts to mature and become like a real person? She might even have an encounter with the blue fairy.
Or she could turn her hand to writing and publishing her tortured thoughts that could be heard by some unknown budding musicians and through their interpretation gradually become the inspiration for a new fresh music scene that will start to create a ripple of change throughout the whole industry and society and eventually begin to revive the creative urge of the disenfranchised.

It sounds like a little optimistic, not least because it's about the killjoy, misery guts Sophie but it would be worth watching even it did end up going pear shaped.

The trouble with Sophie being a lesbian is that for her to have any love interest, a new lesbian character's got to be introduced (like Jenna or Maddie) as opposed to Sophie pairing up with an existing Street resident, so it's all a bit contrived really.

Of course in real life a girl like Sophie would have an active social life with other people her age, or she'd be travelling, doing something worthwhile with her life.

'Start behaving badly', Ida !! She has stolen from her father, started a relationship with a vulnerable girl while in a position of trust, and brought the girl to her mother's house to lie, steal and blackmail, I think they should kill and stuff Sophie, then put her in the window of Dev's shop as a warning to young girls to be careful who befriends you.

I think they could go the "other" way with Sophie's religion and she becomes convinced that she is being punished by God because she's a sinner.

Sophie would get drawn into a more hard-line/ fundamentalist Christian organisation because they validate her self-commendation and offer her a way to do penance. As the story develops, Sophie would begin to self-harm as her own way of "punishing" her "sinful" thoughts and could even go as far as starting a relationship with a boy from the group (no sinful, pre-martial passion allowed!).

I would see the climax of the story being Sophie's new friends being involved in a homophobic attack on Sean and Billy; Sophie isn't with them but she listens to them boasting about it and something in her snaps; Sophie knows Sean and Billy and she knows they aren't the dangerous, evil monsters that they're being made out to be but her new friends say they are and it's God's Will that they all die. Sophie goes home and starts cutting herself as she tries to work things out. The next morning, Sally finds her unconscious on the floor in a pool of blood.

Has Sophie tried to kill herself or has she just gone too far by accident? And will she survive?
