Nick taking Danny aside for a chat..

I admired the way Nick took Danny aside after his argument with Marc. Danny has been trying to be the 'alpha' male in the house and looked a bit flustered and when Nick took him aside and said "you've lost two friends" etc was quite admirable. I think Nick initially came across at a bit naive with not much life experience when he first entered the house but he has come across as very mature the past few weeks.

Probably my favorite housemate now, although Marc has made things a bit more watchable after tonight.

He also said something along the lines of "Don't get too bothered with Marc as he's just doing what he's been brought in to do... stir things up" Which shows that he is. to some degree wise to BB's game

Nick's always been good as a mediator. He was able to make Jade see sense over her behaviour towards the twins, support Joel over Aaron's eviction and talk to Sarah when she was confused about her feelings for Danny. He really can stand back and be objective. I noticed that he made a point of welcoming the newbies last night, knowing that however upset the group were that it was also awkward for them.

Or maybe he's already thinking that the newbies might be the only HMs nominating this week and it's in his interests to keep them sweet ?

Nick is still my favourite but I'm becoming increasingly sceptical about how genuine he is at times. 'Sit next to me Joel'... 'love you Joel'... bleurch, I wish he'd cut that crap out.

Why do you suspect he isn't genuine? It does amuse me when people make that observation about people - why can't people just be genuinely nice? He hasn't done anything to make me think he isn't being himself.

The only people I would have called 'fake' would be Aaron - just looking at his Twitter page reeks of desperately trying to be a Z-list celebrity, constantly retweeting his pics of nights out with Gemma from TOWIE from months ago.

Or maybe he's experienced being the 'new kid' at school or work and knows how it feels to be greeted by dirty looks.

I think he is genuinely nice. However since he got caught out with Jade and the noms talk I get the sense that it's made him paranoid and start to overthink things - he certainly seems less natural to me at times. I hope I'm wrong but it's like he's gone from being totally genuine and trying to build bonds of friendship, to playing the game - which isn't necessarily a bad thing (from his point of view) but I'd be disappointed if he's faking things to advance in the game - I hoped and expected more from him than that.
