No. The actress left because Blackburn thought it would be a good idea to bring Liz (Why?
) back and have Stella become an extra.St. Stella isn't exactly popular on this forum, but give me her over the current two females running the pub any day!

No. She resigned because she said she didn't like the regular commute from her home in London, (because yeah, 2 hrs 10 mins on a train is brutal isn't it?) and she didn't like being away from her daughter so much.
I can only assume when she took on the role she assumed the famous Cobbles would be moved lock stock and barrel to London.

Bless her, she really was ridiculed for her northern accent.

She left of her own accord, although I do wonder if Stuart Blackburn will try to bring the character back when Eva returns to confront Jason.

I loved Stella, I miss her! Her exit storyline was completely insulting to the audience and the actress, though

St Stella had much more class and decorum in her little finger than Liz McMutton has in her entire body. And it could also lead to the return of the Stella Week thread. |

Bring back Stella only so STELLA WEEK can make a return to these forums.
Some of those posts were hilarious |

Stella's whole stint on the show was quite strange. There was a time where she was shoehorned into every storyline then when she sold the pub to Steve and Liz the complete opposite happened and she barely featured onscreen at all. In the 6 months prior to her leaving she was little more than an extra having previously been the star of the show and then she quietly left in possibly the most low key exit ever. I don't know if maybe there were problems behind the scenes. It seemed weird to me that they took her out of the pub in favour of putting the old owners back in almost as if they recognised it wasn't working with Stella as landlady, it was obvious by her lack of screen time that they didn't know what to do with her once she was out of the pub though.
Personally I was never a fan of Michelle Collins being cast she was too well known to us soap fans as Cindy Beale to be successful in another role. Claire King's character may suffer the same fate - whenever I look at her I just see Kim Tate. |

I liked Stella, she was so much better than that pair of cackling witches, Liz and Michelle. But Blackburn in his wisdom, whenever he introduces a new character then thrusts them at us at every opportunity until we are pig sick of the sight of them, then he gets bored and axes them or puts them into such stupid situations that the actors decide to leave..

Well I for one am glad Collinson's pet isn't in it anymore and hope she never returns. Not that I am fond of Liz as the best of times, but Stella was no better and was obviously a favourite (which all changed when PC left).

Stella was SO much better than Liz, for starters she dresses her age and she knew how to run a pub. I really miss the Price's in the pub

Was never a fan at all!! The character was too boring for the Rover's & the actress just failed to put any sort of emotion into her scenes!! Don't know what she was like as Cindy Beale but she really didn't work on Corrie for me!!
The fact she was Collinson's pet project & he tried to force us to like her by involving her in every situation & storyline really didn't help either!! Funny how fickle soap fans can be!! The vast majority of posters on here hated her when I came online in early 2014, now they're calling for her to return!! |
