Missed most of his act, I was so bored I went to make a cuppa. Can't believe he beat the choir!

I just can't believe he would come to a final with a trick that poor.

Why did he take the bag from the box?

What was the point of it being in the box in the first place?

It was either

1) he messed up and took the bag himself
2) it was a terrible trick in a bag!

Which one was it?

Is egghead Raven's mum?

Christ! How defensive and angry are you over a terrible act?

Just watched a tutorial for the hidden deck on youtube.

Only a few minutes, quite simple, yet clever in a way.

Just need to learn to count to eleven and I might be on BGT next year.

So the card he stuck in his top pocket at the beginning, did he forget about it, hence the "cut" gesture at the end ?

Jamie Raven is the worst magician that I have ever seen. I feel bad for saying this as he seems like a nice man, but really... the helicopter thing wasn't really a trick at all. I can't believe he came second.

Codeblue is stupid and cannot grasp its a magic trick.

Hey codeblue check this out OMG Derren Brown doing a shop bought trick!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI5-NDiY7IM”

You come across very angry and aggressive.

If you like magic and defend the art, why then defend those that do it a disservice like Raven did with his poorly constructed, amateurish show?

I know that trick, it is still very difficult to pull off and requires quick thought ... and talent above most other acts, even allowing for it being one of the more well known tricks.

He was criticised in the main thread for it being so simple as he had 52 different decks in his pockets of a large coat and knows which one to pull out.

It was so bad, I'm sure it was actually a mistake and he had to go to plan b.

If this was his best trick, on the final of the biggest tv talent show, then I'm embarrassed.”

Not sure if anyone is interested in your embarrassment.

Seconded.

Great idea.

Option 3.
It was entertaining.

Sorry to say that your posts do not fulfill that remit.

My answers are from an audience point of view

HE removed the bag to take out and cut open the lemon.

[quote]What was the point of it being in the box in the first place?

Drama.Suspense makes trick interesting.Impossible location means magician cant have put bill in there.

None of the above.

Same reason lemon was in a balloon on this version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bvf3RsnQGMY

In your opinion.
His semi final performance wasnt great but tonights was good,it made sense, all tied in and nothing went wrong.

Other than his complete inability to dress up his act as entertaining, other than his complete lack of charisma, other than the gaping great hole in his lemon.

As i said nothing went wrong. The note was stuck in the hole thus when removed u could see a hole obviously.

So then he failed to deceive the audience which is what a sleight-of-hand act is supposed to do.

Are you just defending this garbage out of purely misguided loyalty to him, or are you just wilfully ignorant?

It was as awful as the "shoe" trick from the semi where we could see he left it before walking off.

I'm not a massive fan of magic (I used to be, apparently). However, I thought it was weird that he took the bag out himself.

Resorting to rudeness belittles any point you want to make.

I'd (politely) ask you to please desist.

The deception part is how the bill firstly changed into a piece of paper with "Look in box" on it then secondly appeared in lemon. Maybe you can talk me through it seeing as he failed so you must know how it all works.

Off you go.

So whats the point in this debate......Its got us all talking.....instead of watching the winner...A DOG....who anyone with patience could teach their own pooch to do....no-one was non-plussed and looking for ."how did he do that?".......Any trained Dog can do tricks....or amazing things.......I met a Guide Dog today which was amazing.......proof that DOGS can be trained.....but the Magician got everyone fired up as to "How did he do that?".so think on.....As for Lizzie.I am sure she sill be in her " Iam not amused" mode watching a DOG at the London Palladium....!!!

Oh please. Go cry at egghead calling people "stupid" before you roll out your misplaced moral outrage.

The deception is how the note ended up in the lemon. But this was shown how. It failed.

You do know this thread is about Jamie Raven and NOT the winner, right?

I've already seen at least two videos just posted on YouTube showing how to do the lemon trick. People trying to clock up views and subscribers on their own channels on the back of his fame.
