I thought it was good when I watched it but now seen that you can buy his first trick on Amazon for £6!

I actually preferred his final performance to his semi-final performance, and he seemed a lot less nervous as well. I think he fully deserved second place

I was really impressed by the "invisible deck" trick. Just one thing though - why didn't he pass the deck over for confirmation that it was just an ordinary deck of cards?

I don't think as a magician he was amazing. But the guy came across as so nice and likeable you couldn't help but root for him to do well.

I'd not have been disappointed if he won.

Yeah I've seen how the invisible deck trick is done. Although it is very impressive considering how simple the idea is, and you still have to have a good memory for numbers/pairs... someone who wants to really stand out in the crowd of magicians needs to be a little more inventive than just a copy of a widely known existing trick that anyone can buy.

Though to be fair it was just the first and warmup of two tricks on the night. I'm sure Jamie Raven has it in him to do well, and will be interesting to see if he does appear on future tv shows.

Took him ages to do a couple of tricks. It was mostly waffle. Could have put a few tricks in. If its wasnt for the lemon trick he wouldnt have got anywhere. Rest of the act was rubbish.

To be fair, most magicians do tend to talk a lot to create suspense.

I thought he was good too but .....

.... when he said that he was the most talented human in 2015 I lost all respect for him.

Dogs have to be trained and to train the winning act to do what we saw must have taken some patience and skill.

I'm not saying that Jules and Matisse should have won, as they did, but I really didn't like Jamie's comment. he belittled a fellow contestant.

[And yes, I have seen the "other" thread]

I agree! Magicians who spend less than £18.49 on their tricks are crap and those who spend £18.50 and above are worldclass.

Thank you SOOO much for explaining how work out how is a good magician and who isn't!

(Do I really have to label this as sarcasm)

If you value performance, you will know that he botched so many of his tricks/ lines.

He even missed the last trick in his set out on the final!

Surely if he did something similar to a previous trick he has done that would be even less
original than what he did though?

Btw I am only messing. I know what you mean about how it could have been more original.

It was all misdirection. But if you looked carefully, his hands never left the ends of his arms.

And you see this as a negative just because you want to and not the sign of how a professional works.

You really need to understand what you are posting about before hitting submit.

We get it! You didn't like him! So why not just say that instead of posting things you know nothing about to try and back up your dislike of him?

I could take you seriously then.

"If you value performance" - How absurd! Shouldn't everyone be watching and evaluating the performance instead of the 'Tell me how it's done NOW!' tantrum gang.
