Well, rumours are that next year they're going to do a 'All-Stars' Britain's Got Talent series to celebrate BGT being 10 years on air so I'm wondering if that could signify the show coming to a end. After all, when Dancing On Ice did it it was the end of the show.

As long as it keeps making money / until there is a successful format that can replace it in ITV's lineup.

It was in the newspaper today.

Ah, cheers. If it's true I doubt it will mean the show ending. No way they'll let it go while it's getting the ratings it does. Dancing on Ice had slipped down the ratings.

Exactly this. As long as the show continues to make revenue for ITV, they will continue to commission the show.

Same with X Factor.

A good few years I think. Would be great if they could end it on a Worlds Got Talent or something. Like so many countries have their own Got Talent series, why not all come together for one year. I think it would be pretty great.

Simon said he was planning this a while back. Not heard anything on it in a while.

I hope you're right. I enjoy watching the show; by far the best and most underrated of the TV talent shows.

It became Planet's Got Talent: a clip show series presented by Warwick Davis.

He was also planning a proper Worlds Got Talent though, with winners from around the world competing.

I don't know why ITV and Cowell have a fear of putting these shows on ice for 5 years or so at least. Ok ok, you can argue they still get ratings, but you make a choice, short term win or long term gain. The ratings will slip if it is repeated ad nauseum every year with the same type of acts time and time again. The public might be slightly gullible sometimes but they catch on eventually.

Yeah, I know. And it became a clip show.

ITV boss Peter Fincham reckons another 10 years for BGT and X Factor.

It's always been quite pathetic. Although, there's certainly been some decent talent and entertainment, but they generally never do well.

Plus, I await another moment where Cowell gets egged!

They are already advertising for applications for next year, so that rumour of all stars may not be true. The fact that 4 million votes were cast in the space of 20 minutes means the show is still popular.

I love it and would take it over X Factor or The Voice anyday.

Britain's Got Talent could run for ages as long as it's handled right. Opportunity Knocks, for one of it's spells, ran from 1964 to 1978 and was only dropped because Hughie Green had become unmanageable. The X Factor I'm not so sure; I think it might finish quite soon.

It might be a case of keeping or getting rid of both. I wonder if the contract stipulates. Arguably, The X Factor is more important due to it being broadcast in the Autumn. ITV would feel it's loss more

It'd be great to see a Eurovision sort of thing where each country could vote to be represented by one of their winners (depending on who wanted to take part of course)!

Provided ours was more Diversity, Spellbound or Attraction than George Sampson.

.
They could make it a separate thing from the main series.
