Of what exactly? It isn't as if Jules was stood there with a horse whip and was going to beat the crap out of him if he didn't do it. She is sat with him now on live TV and he seems perfectly happy.

I'm not entirely comfortable with the tightrope but I don't think it was cruel, I really see the love between Jules and Matisse. In contrast to poor Wendy, who is no more than a ventriloquist's living dummy

give it a rest people like you are a embarrasment to humans, the dog was not terrified at all he was concentrating on the ropes or does your small mind not think that animals can concentrate?
Jules was also always underneath the dog too too catch him if he did slip which thankfully he didn't.
You could tell at the end of the act the dog was well pleased with himself and was giving everyone on hand kisses, yes i know it's licks lol but i like to call them kisses.

And a scared dog would not do the trick would be frozen on the spot or try to jump off. You try walking on ropes and not have this slightly peeved look of concentration.
people would be doing it for a challenge not out of fear or being forced.

I think if it was a monky walking across a tightrope people would be outraged, as like those dodgy old circus acts.

I much preferred Pudsey, seemed to have a better connection with its owner.

I didn't like it, one slip and it was an eight foot fall.

Rest of act was cute, but that seemed a bit dodgy.

Should, at least, have been wearing a crash helmet.
It was terrifying. I couldn't watch. But I don't agree that it was cruel.

In the unlikely event that you have even the slightest evidence to support your contention that Matisse was being mistreated then feel free to report it to the RSPCA. I will even make it easy for you by providing you with a link to do so:

https://www.rspca.org.uk/utilities/c...cruelty/online

However, you won't do this because you don't have any evidence to support your case.

I am happy with most dog tricks, but making a dog walk across narrow ropes high up was just in my view, to much, the dog looked nervous and not that happy?
He wasn't made to do it. He was trained to do it, and if he hadn't wanted to, he wouldn't have done it.

I doubt I've ever seen a happier dog.

Border collies are the most intelligent breed of dog and thrive on the sort of thing Matisse does. Your dog, as lovely as I'm sure it is, it quite far down in the pecking order of intelligence in dogs so would pronbably be more happy as a lap dog. It is definitely not cruel what Jules is doing, the dogs love it.

Do some people have so little in their own lives that they have to constantly find fault in others?

Jules so obviously loves Matisse, and he her.

Anyone who knows anything about dogs would recognise a happy one, and Matisse is blatantly a very happy dog - no dog that is terrified of its owner would behave as Matisse does. His tail was wagging constantly and he didn't cringe or cower at any time, around any human. And if he'd been frightened on the ropes, he'd have been trying to get off, or wouldn't have even attempted it. He was concentrating, and just showed that he's an extremely intelligent animal.

Don't think so - Matisse & Jules were so close he loved her as she did him. Much superior act in every way to Ashley & Pudsey

we all see things with different eyes... to me dogs werent meant to do these things... its nice to have a smart dog...and one who behaves well but not to do tricks , some dangerous as this dog did.... but thats just me..
Humans went meant to walk the tight rope, but some do, we don't have wing and wernr meant to fly yet millions of us get in aeroplanes every day. If the dog didn't want to do it he wouldn't have, he was concentrating on his foot work much like a human tight rope walker.

The dog was not made to do it he chose to do it. If hebdidntvwant to do it he would have refused.

I'm not sure about that. Dogs try to please their owners/trainers. There were complaints earlier in the year about a tight rope walking dog.
