I'd like to have seen how many people would've voted for them without the three legged dog.

Are you suggesting the dog would've been able to fill out the application form?

The story wouldn't have worked without the three legged dog. What's your point?

The three legged dog did not change my opinion of the act. I was sold at the tightrope.

I'm far from being Jamie's biggest fan, but even I'll admit that it was quite clearly a joke. No need for this overreaction.

The story needed something at the end. Maybe just a female dog (with 4 legs)? It was clearly done for sympathy votes.

That wouldn't have had as big a emotional impact as a ending. I prefer that Matisse was stealing the sausages to help a poor disadvantaged dog as opposed to a girlfriend.

I love how OP gets absolutely outraged and makes a blatant judgement on somebody's personality from an unfunny and awkward joke, and then proceeds to say anybody who gathers an opinion on them from their comment is being ridiculous for taking an internet post so seriously. One of the most blatant displays of hypocrisy I've seen on DS
![]() Anyway, I wasn't keen on Jamie's tricks but to me he seemed like a genuinely nice guy and that his comment about being the most talented human was just a poor joke. It seemed to me like there were absolutely no hard feelings towards Jules in the slightest so to think he's ungracious or a sore loser is so judgemental it's laughable |

Exactly. It's not Britain's Got Emotional Blackmail; it's about talent.
It takes a lot of talent to come up with a good narrative and to train a dog. I've never even been able to train my rough collie to sit, yet she can get her dogs to walk tightropes. And the dog has to be able to act and understand the commands to perform them, which not even some human individuals can do. Jules & Matisse's final performance would not have worked as well without the three legged dog. The ending would have felt anti-climatic and not had the emotional punch which sold the narrative. |

But with any good story, you need a powerful ending. It was nothing to do with sympathy. Both Jules and Matisse are extremely talented.

It was clearly a joke. How stupid are some people? He had just list £250,000 and a prize royal performance to an animal act but he was jokingly saying he was delighted to cone runner up. It is extremely rare for a non-animal traditional variety act to win a talent show. They are nearly always won by singers, dancers, children or animals. In fact next year I am entering a singing dancing kitten as statistically that must give me the best chance.

He will never live it down losing to a dog. Best part is and I know it's a dirty word but Kate Hopkins championed him on Twitter to win and he didn't.

Obviously it was a joke but it was a bit of a conceited one and implied that he was beaten by a dog just because the dog was cute rather than acknowledging it was a duo.

It was a throwaway joke comment, with no malice
He was very nervous & obviously disappointed !! He meant that he was the top standalone act - which was true ![]() These two were the only acts that I enjoyed. I am glad for both of them & hope that the magician gets loads of work.... The 'aww' factor would have swung it for the dog act

What a ridiculous comment that was. Such arrogance. What about Jules? The magic Jamie did can be taught so for me isn't as impressive a talent as most of the other acts.

I think it was a spur of the moment joke that didn't quite come out quite right rather than being anything deliberatelt nasty. I'm sure most of us have done that ourselves from time to time although thankfully not in front of millions of people on live TV.

I didn't like his act but he seems like a nice enough guy and it was clearly joke and a bit self-deprecating rather than arrogant in my opinion.

No the act is called Jules and Matisse. Without Jules the act wouldn't have won.
