Skippy couldn't as he is right handed
Brilliant!

In just a few seconds you provided more entertainment than over two minutes of canine capers!

BGT for you next year by any chance?

I didn't like his act but he seems like a nice enough guy and it was clearly joke and a bit self-deprecating rather than arrogant in my opinion.
It certainly wasnt self-deprecating, if anything it was the opposite.

But, as much as i didnt like his magic or how he performed it, that line was certainly said as a joke.

It was a joke but the sting of losing to a dog (thoigh it was actually a duo) made it sound bitter rather than lightly shrugging it off.

Jules was instantly more unlikeable in BGMT after the final. Much worse than anything Jamie did/said.

It is possible for it both to be a joke, and also a really unfortunate thing to say. Of course he meant it as a joke, but I cringed at the time watching, I'm sure he probably regrets it too.

Erm...how?

She said she wouldn't choose between herself and Ashleigh & Pudsey.

It was obviously meant to be a joke, and was actually quite a clever one. Unfortunately, 'clever' isn't the same as 'funny'.

Maybe if he'd put emphasis on the words "human being" it might have been more obvious.

I think just something like "it's a shame Jules was in the act with Matisse, otherwise I could at least try and claim that I was the most talented human being in BGT this year!" would have made the same joke/point he was trying to make, but in a more self-deprecating way and without denigrating Jules. (And yes, I know he didn't mean to do that, but he did.)

Incredibly arrogant comment. There is a world of difference between the two acts.

Ashleigh and Pudsey was what I would call, for the want of a better expression, a "gentle" act. One pleasant and unassuming young lady and one, just one, dog. She clearly did it for the love of her dog, not for the earning potential in the future.

Jules and Matisse, however, was entirely different. The act was much more forced, more artificial and Jules came over as more arrogant in every way than Ashleigh. Older and more cynical perhaps, who knows. As a professional animal trainer, with many different animals, she was well aware of, (and motivated by), the earning potential of any similar act.

As for the dogs, the fact that she was apparently such caring, thoughtful and sensitive trainer rather contrasted with the fact that she didn't think to make it clear that her act was actually "Jules and Matisse, er, and Chase, oh and Skippy". Better to have been billed as Jules and Dogs. More honest and a clue as to the likely content of the acts.

I concede that I do not particularly like animal acts, but of the two, then Ashleigh was streets ahead, both in personality, content and entertainment value.

Should the magicians act name include those of the stage hands that actually performed their tricks behind the curtain?

How can you compare the two?
Everyone accepts that a magic act involves artifice and fakery. Otherwise it would be 'real' magic. In fact a magician's act is based on their skill in concealing artifice.
Whereas when you have a performing dog act with one particular dog billed as the star, it's misleading to substitute another dog for the main stunt in the finale and not acknowledge it.
The irony is, if the tightrope dog had come on at the end and taken a bow, I don't think it would have affected the voting.
But Ant and Dec asked at the end about how long Matisse had trained for it and even then it was not acknowledged.

A well thought-out argument, backed with well-referenced evidence. Good work, champ.

Incredibly arrogant comment.
How is that arrogant?

It's a incredibly modest comment.

It would have only been arrogant if she said 'I'm better than them'.

Every argument on here is well-referenced of course. Good effort trying to dismiss my opinion though.

Well no, but you said "what she did on BGMT was way worse than what Jamie said" so I was expecting something a little more specific than "I just didn't like her".

Believe me, I would never say 'way worse.' Anyway, she is not likeable in my opinion and throughout the interview I didn't like her attitude.

Can you describe what you didn't like about her attitude? I didn't see BGMT (hence why I was interested what she did, as she seemed thoroughly pleasant to me) - was it sneering? Arrogant? Nasty? Conceited? Spiteful?

I found her arrogant.

I found her arrogant.
But as has been pointed out to you, she wasn't arrogant. She refused to choose between her and Ashleigh & Pudsey when Stephen Mulhern comically tried to get her to say she was better than them.
