Just unbelievable how quickly Simon can disassociate himself from someone he feels has 'failed' in his eyes.

He was so fired up about Callum before his performance - But as soon as he made a mistake he deemed anyone else favourites for the win.

Just goes to show how cut-throat show business is.

Poor lad! Bet Simon won't even take his calls now!!

He made a mistake in a tough final, I don't think it was a case of Simon disassocating himself from Callum just saying there's no room for error when others were knocking it out of the park with their acts- Callum will be lined up for a record deal, make no mistake

It would have been ridiculous if Callum had won after he forgot the words. I know if I'd been one of the acts, I'd have been peeved off at him winning if he had done it. Thankfully, he didn't win and the prize money and chance to perform at the Royal Variety went to a more deserving winner with a more polished act.

Why when countless times now on X Factor they have put through someone who has totally screwed up over someone who put in a faultless performance. As long as it's their chosen one. So they do just that all the time on X Factor.

Because that was the final performance. If he'd won £250,000 and a spot on Royal Variety it would have been stupid and unfair on acts more deserving IMO.

Looking at the voting percentages from the semi-finals I don't think Calum had a prayer anyway.

It wasn't so much that Simon was ditching him more that Simon knew how the ruthless public would react. You don't make mistakes in finals!!

He wasn't even that good. The lad with the piano was so much better and deserved a top 4 place, tough one to call but I'd put him equal with the choir, whereas the lad who forgot the song shouldn't have even made the final.

I'm rather surprised solo singers are allowed on BGT anyway, isn't that what the X Factor is for?

Callum Scott was on X Factor. He didn't even make it past bootcamp.

He was good in his audition, sounded like MAroon 5 but the song choices for the shows were terriible. We dont have to take our clothes off ballad and Diamonds didnt suit him at all. MAybe more of a rock voice

I like him a lot and really felt for him last night. I think he's very talented and seems like a really nice guy. Mistakes like that happen but it was just unfortunate it happened on the biggest night of his life. I hope he still gets signed.

He was a mediocre singer with a pretty much charisma free personality. nice but dull. I hope he doesnt get a sniff of a record deal when there are many more talented people out there.

He must have been really bad then not to be selected as a reject for the Octogroup.

I was totally underwhelmed by him. I never got why he had Simon's golden buzzer, I was amazed that the public voted him to win his semi final and his performance in the final was awful.

The song choices would totally be down to the producers (I'll hazard a guess he didn't even want to sing Diamonds in the final......rather suspicious that he forgot the words to a song he supposedly chose himself).

he's free to choose from a list of about a dozen songs, final choice is up to him
