Why is Phil such a push over here? Vincent has nothing on him it's so bad at the moment I don't get it.

Even though I'm not a fan of Richard Blackwood's acting, I'm slowly warming to Vincent now. I'm still Team Phil.

Looking forward to tonight's episode. Sharon and Phil are my favourite characters. Inside Soap have said that Sharon is their "star" of the week. http://www.insidesoap.co.uk/dont-mes...r-of-the-week/

I wanted to see a rivalry for Phil, see a back and forth battle, someone to challenge Phil, but I didn't expect for Phil to lie down and roll over. It's ridiculous. And what is going on with this constant angst between Phil and Sharon, they are always in a 'cat and mouse' situation, it's exhaustive now and that's a shame. (EDIT)

For once, it feels odd that Phil is not always winning . I think Phil will win in the end. He's Phil Mitchell

About Phil and Sharon, yeah it's exhaustive but I guess they wanted to show that Sharon is a strong character and she is not a pushover? Maybe they want to remind us that she is Sharon Watts? Phil and Sharon are always playing games.

I wanted to see a character come in and challenge Phil but it's just the manor in which Phil's has just rolled over for Vincent, you know?

Phil's usually a fighter isn't he. I just don't buy that Phil would give up The Albert for Vincent. I know Phil is getting older but I would have thought he would use his "contacts" to deal with Vincent. I'm trying to like Vincent but his constant "eye bulging" is annoying me... I just can't take him seriously as a villain yet.

I don't see Sharon as strong when Phil is walking all over her and she is constantly issuing ultimatums and then going back on them. I would also have preferres her to have gained the Albert herself rather than it being paid for by Phil. I don't see Sharon Watts at the moment. Personally, I think any woman should stay away from Phil until the writers can write him in an equal partnership, you know? I still would like to see a Pat and Peggy type frenemieship built up between Shirley and Sharon, it would be fabulous.

I agree! It's nonsensical. A rival for Phil was needed, they needed someone to be equal to him, to challenge his 'top dog' crown but I just don't buy him giving in so lightly and easily. I would like to see a rivalrt between Phil and Buster but with the Vincent rivalry, I don't think there will be.

I noticed that with Vincent too! Both Richard Blackwood and Letitia Dean do it, I don't quite understand it!

I think Phil is an integral Eastenders character and the show wouldn't be the same without him and his threats/owning people but I want to see a challenger to the throne able to live in the square and not be afraid of him

I am loving what we've seen of Vincent so far. He seems to be quite dark which I like

Even Phil must be getting bored of always being top dog

Thanks for the thread Wizardt and evening all

Oh I know what you mean. She has been a doormat under Phil. She's so weak but when she's away from Phil, she's a stronger character. Sharon threatened to split up from Phil when she finds her father but we all know she won't end up leaving him. . I remembered last year, when Sharon said "No, I'm Sharon Watts" and she was determined to destroy Phil, lots of people were cheering her on. But I cannot believe she changed her mind and she even forgave Phil for having an affair . Shirley may have been a plot device but old-style Sharon would have never forgave Phil for this.

Shirley and Sharon would definitely work well as frenemies. I really liked their scene back in March in the café. Shirley's line "I'll still hate you in the morning" made me chuckle .

It's been ages since Phil and Shirley had a scene. They may have one tomorrow because Shirley is credited tomorrow.

Tonight I'm going to see who wins the "most eye bulging" scenes when Sharon and Vincent confront each other . Sharon probably wins because she bulges her eyes when she's angry
