Sense8 discussion thread
Lana and Andy Wachowskis (of The Matrix fame) are making their television debut with action-thriller Sense8.
In different cities spread across the globe, eight strangers discover that they are connected by a mysterious event. They have never met, but find that their minds have become linked, giving them a direct insight into each other's deepest and darkest secrets. Will you be watching? |

Yes I will be watching.
And with all episodes released at the one time, I can watch at my leisure. |

I will be watching purely due to JMSs involvement, the man is a genius.

I'd love to see this. The main reason being JMS's involvement (loved Babylon 5 and Jeremiah).
Not so sure about the Wachowskis though. The Matrix was brilliant (even though it was a visual rip off of Ghost in the Shell), but the sequels were rubbish. And Jupiter Rising!? A great concept ruined by poor casting/acting of the female lead. I'll have to wait till it comes to a regular terrestrial or satellite channel in the UK, as I don't have a Netflix subscription. |

!! Warning !!!
Lesbian strap on sex in episode one, 20 minutes in.
I didn't see hard sex listed in this programme, I thought it was OK for families. Then 2 lesbians with a big strap on appeared from nowhere. |

Watched the first episode and was very difficult to follow or care about any of the characters, far too many of them, can't remember the name of a single one of them. I will watch a few more as it should hopefully start making a bit more sense, they need to focus on less people at any one time.
Beautiful looking production though. |

I have watched the first 2 and it is confusing, I don't have a clue who the woman was who was dying at the start and why she "chose" the 8 who are to be linked mentally.
They are all strangers and I have no idea what this show is about. I will watch all episodes. |

Beautiful looking production though. They probably will focus on fewer characters in each episode as the series goes on but I'm not sure I'll be bothering to watch. |

Watched the first episode and found it pretty interesting and good, shall keep watching. The intro credits went on for too long though but that's just a minor complaint.

Sign up, get 30 days free. It is a Netflix original, 99% sure it won't be coming to Terrestrial or Satellite TV.
![]() So, I decided to take a look and found Netflix's website to be pretty awful. I couldn't find anything on their site that lays out their viewing plans and monthly costs. It looks as if you have to sign up before you can see that info. I did find, buried amongst the faq and help pages, info on the three plans, but no cost information. It's almost is if they don't want to let prospective customers know the costs, which I find utterly bizarre! Can non-subscribers see a menu of programmes currently on offer? I couldn't find that either! Or did I miss a trick? Netflix's website needs to be rather more transparent and informative to non-subscribers, I'd say. I did find price info on other sites and interesting comparison reviews with Amazon Prime. Netflix came out on top for selection and ease of use. Despite all that, I will, almost certainly, sign up for the free offer, just to check-out this series. |

I'd've thought it will. Eventually.

I could be wrong but I think there's only one price plan and that's £5.99 a month, that's what I pay. No harm signing up for the free month to see what's on to offer, you can cancel straight away so you don't pay anything. The site is simple and easy to use imo.
There are unofficial sites that list what's on there, like this one. http://netflix.maft.uk/catalogue There's more than one plan, but the website doesn't give a lot of info unless you're signed in. www.moreflicks.com is a useful site for find what's available in different regions. |

JMS' involvement has me interested, although the Wachowskis' involvement makes me wary given their inconsistent output.
IGN gave season 1 of Sense8 5.8/10, and called it "mediocre". Reviews in general seem to be... mixed. http://www.metacritic.com/tv/sense8/critic-reviews http://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/sense8/s01/ |
