Netflix price is now £6.99 for new members (for current members the price rise is delayed until 2016).
£8.99 If you want the uhd/4k service.

Watched the first episode and was very difficult to follow or care about any of the characters, far too many of them, can't remember the name of a single one of them. I will watch a few more as it should hopefully start making a bit more sense, they need to focus on less people at any one time.

Beautiful looking production though.
That was my first take, more conventional script than I expected. The 'everything's connected' vibe seemed a bit old - I wanted a more plot.

It sounds a bit like FlashForward, but nothing in the premise screams out for me to watch it. If others say it's good I might give it a try.

i like their stuff thats both the Wachowski Brothers and JMS so i will be watching to see where it goes. I already have it saved to my Netflix queue.
I like their stuff too, but am still rather confused by this so far. But intriguing enough to keep watching. Hopefully Straczynski's involvement will tighten up the storytelling.

Cloud Atlas handled multiple interlinked stories but was very confusing if you had not read the book first. This could go the same way if not careful.

Just a small correction - its not the Wachowki brothers. Siblings but not brothers.

Up to ep7 and, unlike many, I don't feel lost as to who is who and where. They all feel very distinguishable. Still no idea where the series is going but I don't mind. Methinks this will be one of those shows for which -> if they screw up the destination then however much I've enjoyed the journey I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. So fingers crossed they can nail the ending.

Lesbian strap on sex in episode one, 20 minutes in.

I didn't see hard sex listed in this programme, I thought it was OK for families.

Then 2 lesbians with a big strap on appeared from nowhere.
I watched with the parents, good grief just wanted that scene to end

BIB: Actually, I really enjoyed Cloud Atlas. I watched it again just the other night. You don't need to have read the book (I haven't) to follow the multiple, interlinked stories as they are clearly separated within the film. Nor to get the "message" of it overall.

It's a film that demands and rewards paying close attention. It's not a "switch off the forebrain and enjoy the fist fights and explosions" movie.

Just popped on to say anyone thinking the first 2 episodes may be a bit slow, too many characters etc. watch episode 3 before you give up, agree with above it will help you decide whether to watch the rest as it really starts to come together, I ended up watching another 2 episodes after number 3 yesterday, will watch the rest today

Well I'm on EP 5.

It's all a little slow but unlike many it's not confusing at all. The production is fantastic, colourful, great sound, good music, good acting. Really like all of that.

If it wasn't for how slow it was, it would be a very good show.

I can also understand the very bad reviews. They're from the states I would think. The LGBT element is right there in your face, proud as anything. I've a feeling the deeply religious element of America don't like that at all.

I actually agree with that. I also enjoyed the film but had read the book. Several people I know who saw it gave up as they had no idea what it was about. They had not heard of the book.

I just imagined that this was why they struggled as the different way the book is structured might have helped them see the interconnectivity that they all missed.

But this is why I like their work. You need to think a bit about what you are watching,

US TV critics don't tend to have a problem with that.

Episode 1 done. A bit of a mixed bag tbh. Not much explanation for what's going on as yet, but looks like it could be an intriguing plot once things start getting revealed. Not taken an immediate shine to any of the 8 'Sensates' as yet, and I also worry that a few of them will get pushed to the side. When a show is about 8 people having a connection it's important that they all get screen time of relatively equal measure.

I've got as far as episode 6 and I'm thinking twice about going any further, just way too slow. Clearly they are going for character development rather than plot, but the characters just aren't interesting enough to carry the show.

I can't say I find it confusing though, so little has happened (over 6 hours!) that I'm not sure what there is to get confused about

I don't mind the slow pace and I do find the characters interesting. The cinematography, dialogue and music is all well done.

I'm up to Episode 6 and loving it. I like pretty much all of the characters and the stories and the style/music etc is just brilliant. It is slow but I think having eight plot strands helps even for someone like me who has an appalling attention span.

Things I've enjoyed so far:

Just mid-way through Ep9 and taking a little break from my marathon!

I'm really enjoying it so far - excellent production values - lovely and colourful. The plot is intriguing and well put together with diverse and interesting characters, although there have been some points where I've been wishing it to move along a bit quicker.

Only a few more episodes to go - but I need to do some washing first

On of the things I'm not so sure about is the cross over scenes, especially the fights.

There doesn't seem to be a one for one correlation between the fights. Surely when one person is punching someone, the other person isn't in exactly the same position on the other side of the connection?

Well that seemed to be the case when the policeman was fighting through thingy, but then when both he and the Korean woman were fighting through her, it wasn't the case at all.

I guess their powers just manifest themselves in strange ways?

Yep - but again - is it just down to how the powers manifest themselves? Or as they get used to using them, then there's less impact on their 'here and now'?
