Personally I find this trend of graphic sex scenes a turn off. Just bored with the whole thing. Same with Orange is the New Black, good programme but far too many graphic oral sex scenes between the women.
I was thinking about this the other day when I was watching Sense8. It's not really necessary to show full on sex scenes as they don't really add anything to the story, it's a new trend shows seem to try and out do each other.

It doesn't put me off a show but I do think maybe they should be more settle about it.

I just finished the season. It was slow in places but I actually really enjoyed it.

I think I'd have got annoyed with it if it'd only been on once a week, but the speed seemed more acceptable because I could watch the next episode right away.

Looking forward to the next series.

I finally managed to finish this earlier and now I'm feeling miserable, I so didn't want it to end. In general I enjoy good television and for me this was pretty much perfect, the pace was irrelevant because so much was going on and the way it was built up until finally all the characters knew each other was just brilliant. Incredibly tense moments, laugh out loud in parts, excellent. I loved the 4 non blondes moment, when Lito finally stood up to Joaquin, I'm fully invested in all the characters.

Someone was asking why Kala was going ahead with her marriage, I thought it was explained that the proposal made her parents so happy she couldn't bear to let them down. Obviously she should dump him for Wolfgang but life's not that simple.

If there's a second season (please please be a second season) I hope they can focus on how to get Whispers out of Will's head without keeping him continually drugged.

[putshandup] Hmmm, but did we even see her "question" this, ie. find out what they'd think if she didn't go through with the wedding, or have her parents ask if she really REALLY wanted to marry the guy. I can understand her continuing the charade if she felt forced or obligated or it was her duty but I just don't recall any scenes that showed us her wrestling/struggling between doing what she wanted vs doing what she felt she had to do. It's like she remained quiet even though no-one around her was shusshing her.

For an outsider it would seem ridiculously easy for her to change her mind but in that situation I can totally see why she hasn't said anything, her parents are convinced she's marrying for love, all her friends think Rajan (?) is amazing, everything's progressed so far and so quickly, maybe she could love him as he does seem a pretty great bloke and until she saw Wolfgang she may not have known what she was missing in terms of an instant connection to someone. However, I'm putting the thoughts in her head that I know I'd have in her situation! It's seemed as though she keeps offering him chances to back out rather than being bold and ending it herself.

I watched with the parents, good grief just wanted that scene to end
How did you feel when they had a close up shot of the used, wet strap on flopping on to the floor?

Got 30 minutes in (if that) and jibbed it off. Boring, pretentious rubbish.

I'm doing that too. . Maybe someone edited out a scene where she explains to Wolfgang why she doesn't/hasn't said anything - or maybe I just need to rewatch the season and this time pay better attention.

This is exactly how I felt after watching sense8.

I like the fact you referenced the 'what's going on' episode in your summary of the first season. It's easy to forget the sublime when each subsequent episode brings with it, it's own curious wonder.

To speculate on what you touched upon. I don't think there is a cure for what Whispers can do. Angelica's dishevelled and manic appearance in the opening scene, suggests she'd been under near constant sedation in her effort to avoid him. Anything short of putting Will in a medically induced coma, will suffice in the long run.
If there's a solution, it might come from the group learning more about enigmatic Dr Matheson. After all who is he? Why does he have that distinct ability to locate them. Which is different from their own.
Is\was he part of a cluster?

A second season will answer some of these questions.

Finally ploughed through the episodes - summary - didn't really care for it.

I totally agree. It started off VERY slow. that's fine, loads of great shows do. Then, I think, around ep 4 and5 it started to pick up and I thought here we go - but then it seemed to get boring again and I'm afraid to say after I realised it wasn't going to be great all the way to the end I kind of switched off a little. I finished it but I wouldn't recommend it and I certainly won't be wanting to watch any more of it.

On paper it seems right up my street and the very high ratings made me stick it out to the end - but when it comes down to it - i did not enjoy this show really.

I did enjoy the Karaoke scene, in the end I quite liked the characters but really not what happened to them..

I've just binge-watched this. The first two episodes turned my partner off. He just lost interest. I continued with it, and found that I really enjoyed it.

However, my main criticism with this show is that it did feel a bit too slow and serious in places.

Overall though, I hope it doesn't get axed, and that it returns soon. It's really imaginative, some good characters, and an intriguing story. Fingers crossed!

Just finished episode #6, it's slow, and it sure is complex, but there's potential. Am curious at this point, but do any of our characters actually meet (like, properly meet, rather than just having that connection?)

I know the Cop and Saiyd (Lost name) have met, but I don't believe any of the others have yet?

Figured they would eventually, though expected that Safe hacker and the Indian Lass to meet first. That's two couples they've already set up (depending on the route in which the show takes). Certainly doesn't leave much to the imagination with the sex and nudity on this show too, whilst it's different, I wonder whether it adds, or takes away from the story.

Personally i don't pay much attention to the sex scenes, i like the personal stories and the growing mysteries that particularly build towards the end of the series.

I not bothered by the sex scenes in the slightest (they're not *that* graphic are they) but much more by the occasional violence which is so sporadic that it always seems to catch me off guard. I'm still recovering from the Nigerian gang boss demonstrating to Capheus what he does to people who fail him. If you've seen that episode you know exactly what I mean.

I tried the first2eps.... Boring, confusing, embarrassing sex scenes which did nothing to advance the plot.
I'm still non the wiser as to what's going on.

But does that bother you or are you fine with letting the series take you wherever it chooses ?

I'm six episodes in, and I'm not entirely sure what's going on either. Thus far, there seems to be eight people that can link somehow, with a further two (one good, one bad) that are trying to exploit (for good or bad) that general ability. I'd be amazed at this point if much had been tied up by the final, we'll probably have to wait till the second series (if not longer) before any definitive answers are made known to us.

I think this is like Lost in that you get some answers, but not others.

I think that's how it is meant to be. These people have no idea what's going on with themselves either and we will probably learn as they learn what is happening to them.
