According to this an announcement is very close and will be made by JMS. Apparently it's been very popular indeed!

I have to say I loved this series. I think the initial criticism was based around reviews for the first few episodes. I think people expected some kind of "Heroes" show, as in the cast would discover their powers, all meet up and spend the series fighting evil etc. What Sense8 has done is slowly create this world and slowly build the characters with back story, their new relationships with each other etc and I think it's a breath of fresh air.
Like most of you, I found episode 9 so good, no action, just an opportunity for us to get to know these people a lot more, and the balance of drama/action/comedy on other episodes has been perfect. I think early criticism was unfair and like I said, from people who want a network tv type of show. This show went the other way building a character based drama with sci-fi elements, which is not seem much these days. I can't wait for the season 2 renewal announcement, crossing my fingers. Glad other are enjoying it. |

Long time lurker here and i love a lot of shows but this is the first where i have felt the need to contribute
I really enjoyed this show, was unsure in episode 1 whether i would be able to follow but then loved how it all unfolded. Like the post above a breath of fresh air. I think the character development was so good and i felt invested in all their stories and the way they came together throughout worked so well. Also i thought the acting was mostly great, e.g. how Sun could show strenght and vulnerability at the same time. Perhaps the person paying nomni was a little wooden but kudos for the casting. Cinematography and continuity fab also. One question though if anyone can answer... If Whispers is also a sense8 (in his own cluster) then why would he be tracking them down? I could understand maybe if it was a "normal" person who would want to do this. Anyway it certainly didnt detract from my total enjoyment of the series! |

Great to hear. This is what Netflix should be about. The kind of show that would never get the time to breathe and develop on other TV media.

I tried to find this thread yesterday to say it had been renewed.
It's great news, and I'm looking forward to it.

So happy to see that sense8 has renewed for a second season as I didn't know how popular it had been with other viewers on Netflix
The previous poster comment about the show would never have a chance elsewhere is totally correct but that's one of the good things about Netflix I know it's only just been announced as returning but is there a date yet? Although I guess like Daredevil it will be next year in the same month that the original season was shown! |

i think s1 was summer time so that will probably happen again
cannot wait, it was amazing so expensive though so probably wont get a s3, i think s2 was commisioned because of critical acclaim and not wanting to annoy subscribers with a early early cancellation |

They only did like 3 days of filming there and the rest was in a studio. We might be able to tell if they're cutting back with the storyline's from the characters. Poor Sun might be stuck in prison for the whole of season 2 ![]() Hope we learn more about Whispers this season and he does not get killed off. He is a good villain this show needs. |

They will probably cut back on the number of episodes to save costs. Instead of the unusual 12 that S1 had it will probably now be 10. The same thing happened with Hemlock Grove, it started with 13 then they cut it down to 10.

When you consider the round the world location filming and cost this is never going to be a quick turnaround series.
Quality over quantity or rapidity is fine by me. |

I watched Sense 8 because I thought it was an SF show. When it became clear to me that the show was actually about trans gender and same sex relationships, with a paper thin SF theme, I decided it wasn't for me. |
