It's unfair to let someone believe they have a kid when it's not theirs and to let his son believe he has no child when his baby is going to grow up on his doorstep...if he found out years down the line he would never forgive his dad!

I am not liking the story line. I actually think Vanessa should have the child with or without Kirin and have nothing to do with Adumb either. Plenty of single 40 year old mothers make brilliant mothers.

The best bit about this storyline is that we see a new more interesting to Rakesh.

I think that poster may have confused the character with the actress. Her mother lives in Spain, I don't know if she's actually Spanish or just an ex pat, but Natalie J Robb could definitely pass for it.

Rakesh is a barsteward! How could he do that? His grandchild! I hope Kirin finds the original letter and finds out the truth.

For me he's made this whole story 10% more interesting. I like this new twist on a old run of the mill soap story. I sort of hope Kirin finds out as late as possible because then that's a new story in itself.

I honestly don't see why Emmerdale needs another storyline about a kid and its biological vs assumed parents. It's been done so many times that right now in one small village you have Adam, Archie, Leo and Jacob who all had their parents lie about their real fathers, mothers or both.
Plus, when (if?) the baby is born, there are more factors to consider than just skin colour... does Rakesh just hope that it will have Vanessa's blood type, eye colour, no hereditary health issues?

I don't suppose he gives a monkey's as long as Vanessa and her baybeh are out of his son's hair for the time being. You're right though, it would be almost bound to come out in the end. Adam and Kirin don't exactly look alike anyway - if it comes out with curly dark hair, a dumpling face and a dopey expression, it's Adam's.

Rakesh is basically being a total tosspot Dad, who for some reason wants to protect his feckless wooden son. But I still have the raging hots for him, so it's fine. (Rakesh, I hasten to add, not Kirin). I quite like devious. But then I like Robert as well.

Yep Adam Thomas is mixed-race but they have never established a reason for the character to look that way, I think we're not supposed to notice.

How the Hell can Jai be full Indian if his mum (Georgia) is a white, Englishwoman? Although, funnily enough, him and his siblings don't look that much of a different skin tone to their father, Rishi, who , I presume, is full Indian.

Regarding what Rakesh has done, you have to appreciate he's doing it for what he thinks is the best. By the time his boy is his age, Vanessa's going to look like Judy Finnegan...

I agree, we all saw these storylines coming a mile off but it is an interesting idea to do old stories in a different way.

I like Rakesh, about time we more mature ladies had some eye candy, Kirin is just a spoilt brat and Vanessa should know better.

I find the whole pregnancy/who's the daddy s/l completely boring. I just don't care about any of them, except Rakesh. Way to go Rakesh, but don't forget you have a much younger girl friend.
