Not sure I believe that. Surely if a white mother has three children to an Indian father they'll all be relatively lighter skinned compared to their dad?
Take me for example I have blonde hair and blue eyes. My mum has brown hair and brown eyes, my dad has brown hair and blue eyes. By all accounts I should, therefore, have brown hair and brown eyes. One gene is more dominant than the other, therefore they could all be darker skinned or lighter skinned or somewhere in between. |

My older daughter takes after her dad's side of the family in looks and build, and is darker than her sister, but not as dark as their dad. As I have blonde hair and blue eyes, people are surprised that I'm her mum, as we look pretty much nothing alike and I'm 5 inches taller than her! P.S. - Rakesh is a complete poophead for what he's done, but it's given the storyline great drama. |

It's bound to be revealed though, most likely in the not too distant future, which would end up with all the affected parties uniting in their hate for Rakesh, as it certainly is an appalling thing he's done.

It's psychopathic behaviour and I hope he gets found out and sent to prison for fraud.

Not just morally appalling either (though it is) - if it comes out, he could get struck off professionally couldn't he? No more posing at The Bar for our bewigged Rakesh (swoon). So the stakes are pretty high for him. What a plonker. Good job he's so gorgeous.

Based on partial spoilers released to them, yes. That's what soap magazines do.
![]() The Press Office doesn't release 'partial' spoilers anyway. An occasional press release regarding casting but that's about all. |

Who would honestly want their intelligent and successful (in business) teenage son to be saddled with an older woman and a child before they have had the opportunity to experience a rich and full life of their own?! What Rakesh has done is hugely manipulative but not hateful. He did what he did because he loves his son and wants to give him the chance to have opportunities in life. I don't agree with it, but I can easily understand it. |

This is by no means 'the most hateful thing anyone could do to their son' not by any means. Rakesh has raised Kirin alone and has always done his best for his children, to the point where Kirin is actually quite spoiled. He refuses to listen to his fathers good advice and time after time finds himself in trouble.

I agree. What Rakesh did isn't right by any stretch of the imagination but it came from a place of love and wanting the best for his son. He sees the best as being opportunities for jobs, making money, travel and the like well before anything else, clearly Kirin doesn't.

The fact that Jay and Priya are half white and therefore a product of with a white partner would technically create a ¾ white child, their children could appear ½ Asian, ¼ Asian or possibly “fully white” in appearance (though still carrying Asian genes). In reality the law of averages would suggest if a mixed race couple such as the one we are discussing, had a large enough sample of children (say 20 births), 10 could appear fairer than the ethnic parent, 5 could appear similar in complexion to the darker parent (though not carry as much of the ethnic gene to pass down to their children) and 5 could appear white (carrying a similar amount of ethnic genes as their darker siblings). This wonder of human genetics therefore creates the odd story in the press of a white and a black twin being born, when what they typically mean is one twin appears white (but still carries an ethnic gene) and one is much darker (though will still appear mixed race and not fully black or Asian). You could say it’s a similar scenario of a couple giving birth to 5 boys or 5 girls. If they had the patience and “finance” to carry on procreating eventually they would produce the other gender but it might take 20 plus children for the gender split to resemble 50%. However as we all know most parents don’t have the energy or funds to produce more than 4 or 5 children these days!! |

It's possible, but genetics don't mean you will have a blend of skin colours.

So your dad must have 2 blue genes (recessive) and your mum must have one brown-eye gene and one blue - blue is recessive so her eyes are brown. You have inherited a blue-eye gene from both, so your eyes are blue.
